Keybindings Reference

The full key list, in addition to mpv's own default bindings. Wherever ENTER is listed below, the numpad's KP_ENTER works identically. Press ? in-app for the same reference grouped into on-screen tabs (Guide, Playback, VOD & Chapters, Recording & History, Plex) — LEFT/RIGHT switches tabs while it's open.

General

Key	Action
i	Show programme/VOD info for whatever's relevant right now (guide selection, current playback, Plex item). Press again to open its TMDB page, if one's known. See TMDB Ratings & Metadata.
MENU (tap)	Same as i.
MENU (hold 0.5s+)	Same as g (toggle the guide).
a	Toggle an about card (logo, version, one-line summary).
?	Toggle the in-app keyboard-shortcuts cheat sheet.
k	Open the Chromecast device picker.
x	Browse watch history (read-only).
e	Cycle a sleep timer: Off → 15 → 30 → 60 → 90 minutes → Off. Pauses playback when it fires; tied to the session, survives a channel/VOD switch.
z	Cycle the video's display aspect ratio (Auto, 4:3, 16:9, 2.35:1, 1:1).
o	Toggle picture-in-picture (shrink to a small always-on-top corner window).
t	Toggle subtitles on/off, if the stream has a track.
y / n	Only on the update-available card: y opens the release page, n/ESC dismisses it.
BS	Stop playback and quit cleanly — in a Plex session, drops back into the library browser instead.
ESC / GO_BACK	Close whatever's currently open (popup/browser/prompt). GO_BACK is a permanent alias for ESC, except in a bare Plex session, where it acts like BS.

Program Guide

Key	Action
g	Toggle the full program guide.
UP / DOWN	Move the channel selection cursor (guide only).
PGUP / PGDWN	Move it a full page at a time (guide only).
LEFT / RIGHT	Page the timeline back/forward 30 minutes (guide only); switches tabs while ? is open instead.
ENTER	Switch to the selected channel and close the guide.
f	Open a text-entry filter prompt (name/group substring match).
c	Clear the active filter.
h	Toggle the selected channel as a favorite.
v	Show only favorited channels.
[ / ]	Nudge the selected channel's EPG shift by ±1 minute, saved immediately.
b	Switch to the last-watched channel.
s	While programme details are shown: schedule/cancel a recording. See Recording & Scheduled Recordings.

Playback

Key	Action
p / PLAY / PAUSE / PLAYPAUSE / ENTER	Pause/resume live TV — buffers in the background up to --live-buffer-minutes (default 10) so resuming continues from where you paused. Recordings/VOD just pause normally, no limit.
[ / ] / { / }	mpv's own defaults outside the guide: adjust playback speed ±10% / halve / double.
Ctrl++ / Ctrl+-	mpv's own default: adjust audio sync.
Alt++ / Alt+- / Alt+arrows / Alt+BS	mpv's own defaults: zoom in/out, pan, reset.

VOD & Chapters

Key	Action
m	Browse VOD movies (Xtream/Stalker's own API, or an M3U --vod-group pull).
UP / DOWN	For a Plex item with real chapter markers: preview the next/previous chapter without seeking yet.
ENTER / ESC (chapter preview)	ENTER jumps immediately; ESC cancels; left alone a couple of seconds, it jumps automatically.
j / ENTER (Skip Intro/Credits prompt)	Confirm the skip, jumping to the end of that window. Plex only, needs Plex's own intro/credits detection.
ESC (Up Next)	Cancel the autoplay-next-episode countdown. Plex only.

Recording & History

Key	Action
r	Toggle recording the current stream to disk.
w	Browse past recordings; d twice to delete the selected one.
u	Browse upcoming scheduled recordings; ENTER cancels the selected one.
x	Browse watch history (also listed under General above).

Plex

See Plex Media Server for the full picture — this is the densest section, since Plex's library browser has no guide equivalent to fall back on.

Key	Action
l	(Re)open the library browser, right where you left off.
UP / DOWN / PGUP / PGDWN	Move the selection.
ENTER	Drill in (library → show → season → episode) or play a movie/episode.
ENTER (hold)	Item menu: Play from Start, Mark as Watched/Unwatched.
ESC / LEFT	Go back a level, or close the browser from the top level.
g	Switch between Grid and List view.
Any letter/digit (except g/h/v/l/y)	Jump to the next title starting with it, while browsing a flat movie/show list.
/	Search the whole server.
y	Filter everything by release year.
h	Favorite the selected movie/show.
v	Show only favorited movies/shows.
