Getting Started

First launch

When Drama Studio starts for the first time, it looks for ComfyUI on your computer (the engine for on-device AI generation).

• ComfyUI found: you go straight to the welcome screen.
• Not found: you can install it, point Drama Studio to an existing copy, or connect to one that is already running. If your computer has no strong graphics card, choose Continue without ComfyUI. Editing, captions and export all work, and AI features offer to set ComfyUI up later when you open them.

Not sure what your PC can do? Click Setup Doctor on the welcome screen. It checks ComfyUI, your graphics card and memory, video tools, AI keys and your project folder, and tells you how to fix anything that is missing.

Your first project

1. On the welcome screen, click New Project.
2. Give it a name and pick a size, for example 1920×1080 for YouTube or 1080×1920 for TikTok and Reels, and a frame rate (24 or 30 is a safe choice).
3. Click Create. Drama Studio makes a folder for the project and opens the editor.
4. Drag your own videos, photos or music into the Assets panel, or open Generate to make something with AI.
5. Drag items from Assets onto the timeline at the bottom and start editing.

Drama Studio saves your work inside the project folder and keeps automatic backups while you work. Change where new projects are created in Settings › Projects & Storage, and the default size and frame rate in Settings › New Project Defaults.

Where your files are

Everything stays on your own computer, inside the project folder, including results made with cloud AI (they are downloaded as soon as they are ready).

Finding things

• Help Center: press F1.
• Search every action: press Ctrl+Shift+P and type, for example "translate", "subtitles" or "beats".
• Guided tour: on the welcome screen, or at the top of the Help Center.
• Quick actions: select a clip and the actions that fit it appear at the top of the Inspector.
