Download and Install

Download Drama Studio from the releases page. Pick the file for your computer:

File	Choose it if…
Windows Installer (…windows-installer-x64.exe)	You want the normal install. Recommended: it updates itself.
Windows Portable (…windows-portable-x64.exe)	You want to run it without installing, for example from a USB drive. It tells you about new versions but does not update itself.
Linux AppImage (…linux-x86_64.AppImage)	You use Linux and want one file that updates itself.
Linux deb (…linux-amd64.deb)	You use Debian or Ubuntu and prefer a package.

Mac downloads come back once macOS code signing is set up. Until then you can build it for macOS from source.

Ignore the "Source code" archives that GitHub adds to every release unless you plan to build Drama Studio yourself.

Windows

1. Run the installer and follow the steps. You can choose where to install it.
2. "Windows protected your PC"? Release builds are not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen does not recognise the publisher. Click More info, check that the app is Drama Studio, then click Run anyway. Only do this for files downloaded from the official releases page above.
3. Start Drama Studio from the Start menu.

Linux

AppImage: make the file executable, then run it.

chmod +x Drama-Studio-*-linux-x86_64.AppImage
./Drama-Studio-*-linux-x86_64.AppImage

deb:

sudo apt install ./Drama-Studio-*-linux-amd64.deb

What your computer needs

• Editing, captions, sound and export: any reasonably recent PC, and enough free disk space for your project media, cache and exports. No AI setup or account is needed.
• AI generation on your own computer: a separately installed ComfyUI and a capable NVIDIA graphics card. Image models can run on modest cards; video models usually need 12–16 GB of video memory or more, and the heaviest ones 24 GB+. See AI Generation.
• Cloud AI: any PC, plus a Comfy.org API key and credits.
