Coding Projects and Speaking Archive
John requested these remaining portfolio pages on October 1, 2026. Implementation: PR #42, tracked in #41.
| Page | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Coding | Tiled public code repositories with technology badges |
| Projects | Single-column stories: challenge, contribution, result |
| Talks & Presentations | 16 recovered talks, slide decks, panels, and student sessions |
| Podcasts, Interviews & Press | Seven sourced podcast, interview, and press records |
| The Pipeline Problem | Preserved URL, four belonging-talk appearances, two responsive lazy video embeds |
Coding/Projects uses the same paired-view pattern as Articles/Blog. Talks/Media is another pair. Reuse canyon colors, typography, shared toolbar, compact collapsed discovery, six-card pagination, sorting, format/technology filtering, badges, keyboard focus, and no-JavaScript fallback. Home now opens the Coding hub; Work links to the new sections.
Source and maintenance details: implementation notes. Catalog content lives in _data/portfolio.yml.
Recovered Button 2022 talk and workshop, Confab keynote, Perspectives leadership panel, six SlideShare decks, three UCF sessions, both Manuscript episodes, Not-Boring Tech Writer, POCIT and Tom Johnson interviews, and articles citing John. Match identities carefully: excluded unrelated people with the same name. Dates are only as precise as the source supports.
The Confluence project distinguishes the original tool family used by six teammates (hundreds of hours saved) from the sanitized public reconstruction, which has offline tests but no live Confluence integration test. The Bitbucket project describes separating object hydration from a growing API proxy reference and partnering with an engineer on examples.
Button 2020 recording has not been recovered. Its old link incorrectly reused the Summit recording. The original Not-Boring Tech Writer Podbean link is unavailable, so its card honestly links to an article discussing the episode. Three slide records link to John’s author archive because individual URLs were not recovered. This is a recovered selection, not a claim that every appearance is present.
Feature preview safe Jekyll CI passed in 36959796125. Preview build and deployment passed in 36959853899. Deployed search, format filter, title sorting, empty results, reset, final pagination page, Coding/Projects toggle, and Talks/Media toggle passed. Desktop visual review completed. Responsive rules are implemented; physical Fold6 review remains a release check. PR #42 merged into v2 at 149dc742e3b3868f5b02e8b7cb48b0975b6d39b2. Final feature safe Jekyll CI 36960041668 passed. Integrated staging build/deployment 36960257238 passed, with 26 generated HTML pages passing the staging checker. Live build-info.json confirms branch v2, that exact commit, and that run. Staging’s persistent selection remains v2; #41 is closed. Next: site-wide search #26, then shared toolbar review #38. Production promotion remains separate.
