Characters ‐ Projecting

Once you have discovered a character, you can materialize it into your colony's universe! Once projected, you can do with that person the same things you do to any RimWolrd character, such as imprison, enslave, recruit, etc.

Requirements

  • At least one built parachronic computer array.
  • At least one built parachronic tracking system.
  • At least one built projection platform.
  • One or more connected pulse batteries.
    • The batteries must have enough energy in storage.
  • A colonist as operator.
    • Must be capable of intellectual.

How to project a character

  • Select the parachronic tracking system.
  • In the building’s command bar, select "Start character projection". You will be prompted to select a colonist to make the request.
    • Alternatively, you can select a colonist, right-click the tracking system, and order the projection through the usual float menu.
  • Select the desired character in the character browser window.
  • Click "Select" to begin.

About the projection process

Upon selecting a character in the browser window, the order is sent to the parachronic computer array. The process takes a bit of time, as the computer must pinpoint the multidimensional coordinates, but unlike character searches, this process is much, much shorter.

The signal is then sent to a projection platform. If there are multiple platforms in your colony, the one that is closest to the parachronic tracking system you used before is chosen to perform the operation.

Energy

Any projection requires a big amount of energy, and it can only come from connected pulse batteries.

By default, you need to use 150 Wd per kilogram of matter projected. This mass to energy ratio can be changed in the mod settings window if desired. This means that the character's weight has a role in the amount of energy required to bring it to your colony.
