Tool Preset

Definition:

A tool instance that has measured and stored offsets for a particular machine.

Examples:

  • The same 12 mm drill measured in a presetter — with its length and diameter offsets recorded.

Notes:

Adds machine-specific data (geometry + orientation + offset values).

Presets tie the tool instance to a machine setup, often via a presetting station or RFID tag.
