IRONCLAD v1.4
Naval combat for the MSX2. Seven rulesets, from a gentle kids' mode to salvo duels of pure deduction, with best-of-N match play.
What is new since v1.3
- BARRAGE has an opponent of its own now, and it plays for the kill. The other salvo modes work patiently towards knowing exactly where your fleet lies. BARRAGE would rather sink you than find you: it presses every ship it has damaged and finishes as many as it can, as early as it can, because each ship you lose is a shot you never fire again.
- A strategy section, in the README and in the manual, on why SALVO, SALVO PLUS and BARRAGE reward completely different play.
- The gray buoy now shows the sea through it, the way the yellow one does.
Every other ruleset plays as before.

Requirements: an MSX2 with 128 KB of video RAM and a disk drive, real or emulated. Any MSX2 capable emulator will do.
Bug reports and feature requests are welcome in Issues.
IRONCLAD v1.3
Naval combat for the MSX2. Seven rulesets, from a gentle kids' mode to salvo duels of pure deduction, with best-of-N match play.
What is new since v1.2
- SALVO PLUS: the enemy finishes what it starts. When it has worked out where one of your ships must be, it now spends the salvo sinking it instead of firing elsewhere.
Every other ruleset is unchanged.

IRONCLAD v1.2
Naval combat for the MSX2. Seven rulesets, from a gentle kids' mode to salvo duels of pure deduction, with best-of-N match play.
What is new since v1.1
- It boots in about half the time. Power-on to the first placement prompt falls from 84 seconds to 48.
- ANKA has a submarine. The kids' ruleset gains a three-square submarine: six ships and 24 squares.
- The game no longer writes to the disk.
- The match score updates the moment a game ends, rather than staying stale under the banner announcing it.
- More free memory in every ruleset, which is what the out-of-memory in long salvo games came down to.
- New screenshots, and a pass over the manual and the README.

IRONCLAD v1.1
Naval combat for the MSX2. Seven rulesets, from a gentle kids' mode to salvo duels of pure deduction, with best-of-N match play.
What is new since v1.0
- The loading screen shows the version, and so does the boot message.
- A large memory reclaim. The enemy used to mark every square it had confirmed with a red glyph. Nothing in its search ever read that mark, so the mark and the sweep that produced it are both gone. Free memory during a salvo game goes from 213 bytes to 555, which should put an intermittent out-of-memory well out of reach. Your own red marking is unchanged.
- The end-game banner reads ENEMY WINS rather than CPU WINS.
- The menu calls its first row RULESET, and the rules table names that column the same way.
- The menu panel is smaller and sits lower, leaving more of the cover art visible, with the arrows lined up across both rows.
- New screenshots, and the README and manual revised against them. The two salvo boards are now captured from a single game, so the two views really are the same battle.
For anyone who wants to build a disk, the repository now carries the minimum build chain and BUILDING.md.

The computer never cheats. It sees no more of your fleet than you see of its own, and it is told exactly what the ruleset allows and nothing beyond.
Bug reports and feature requests are welcome in Issues.
