The Online Installer & AMD-NR Backend Overhaul

Choose a tag to compare

@mnector mnector released this 30 Sep 07:01

This major update completely rewrites the ED2 installation framework to ensure 100% license compliance, while delivering the smoothest and most stable neural rendering experience to date.

✨ What's New:

  • 100% License Compliance (Online Installer): ED2 is now a fully automated online wrapper. It no longer bundles or redistributes copyrighted third-party .dll files. Instead, Setup.Install.ps1 dynamically fetches the latest official releases from 3zwr1/AMD-NR---OptiScaler and danielblnc/DLSS-NR-on-AMD directly from GitHub at install time.
  • Massive Performance Leap: We have officially transitioned away from the legacy EnvyDynamicPacing watchdog. The new native AMD-NR runtime offers vastly superior memory management, completely eliminating driver timeouts (TDRs) and real-time gaming stutters.
  • Game-Specific Auto-Tuning: The script continues to automatically inject custom OptiScaler.ini parameters depending on your game's engine (e.g., handling RE Engine resource barriers, GTA V hotkeys, and Vulkan spoofing).
  • New Automated Uninstaller: By popular demand, we've added Uninstall.ps1. Run it in any game directory to cleanly sweep all mod files, configurations, and logs, restoring your game to its vanilla state instantly.
  • Cleaned Payload: The release .zip is now extremely lightweight (a few KB), containing strictly our open-source PowerShell and Batch scripts.

⚠️ Important Note:
Because ED2 now fetches the backend files directly from their original authors, an active internet connection is required during installation.

Full credit for the core neural rendering technology goes to Daniel Blanco (DLSS-NR-on-AMD) and 3zwr1 (AMD-NR). ED2 acts strictly as an automated modding tool and configuration wrapper.

v1.0.4 — The Absolute Continuity Update

@mnector mnector released this 19 Sep 02:47

💎 Envy-Diamond-2 v1.0.4 — The Absolute Continuity Update

This release represents a definitive leap in stability for the neural rendering translation pipeline on AMD Radeon GPUs. Following deep reverse engineering of the dlssnr_amd backend and OptiScaler proxy layers, version 1.0.4 eradicates both timeout frame drops and temporal history resets caused by GPU overload spikes.

🚀 Key Improvements & Highlights

1. 🛡️ Watchdog v5.0.0 ("The True Root-Cause Cure")

  • Master Flag Interception (0x76D54): Disassembled and identified that the neural engine decides whether to present or discard frames based on a single memory flag. The initializer at 0x1061E now defaults to 0 (Success), the unpatched timeout branch at 0xF0D1 has been NOP'd, error writes at 0xF293 are forced to 0, and the Watchdog loop actively locks 0x76D54 to 0 every 50ms in live RAM.
  • OptiScaler 16ms Pre-SR Bypass: Dynamically hot-patches the JAE conditional branch at RVA 0x14585, blinding OptiScaler to time so it never prematurely aborts pre-SR passes during heavy GPU submissions.

2. ⏳ Temporal History Persistence (SkipReset = true)

  • Elimination of Raw/Unprocessed Frame Flashes: When the GPU is overloaded (e.g., jobs spiking to 200ms+ due to OBS recording or heavy scenes), modern engines (RE Engine, Final Fantasy XVI, UE5) falsely assume a scene transition/teleport and send an explicit ResetHistory command. This purged the temporal accumulation buffer and caused the game to flash an aliased, un-accumulated frame. OptiScaler now enforces SkipReset=true, ignoring false reset triggers and preserving continuous temporal reconstruction through any frame spike.

3. 🧹 Log Sanity Restored

  • Restored clean epilogue execution branching at RVA 0xF138, completely eliminating false-positive host watchdog timeout log flooding during normal frames.

4. ⌨️ Automated Game-Specific Hotkey Detection

  • Automatic Out-of-the-Box Setup: The installer (Install_Game_Admin.bat / Setup.Install.ps1) automatically detects the target game and applies conflict-free overlay hotkeys:
    • Resident Evil Requiem / RE Engine: Automatically configured to HOME (0x24) to avoid collisions with REFramework's INSERT menu.
    • Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced: Automatically configured to INSERT (0x2D) to avoid collisions with Rockstar Social Club's HOME overlay.
    • Manual override: If you want to change hotkeys manually, open OptiScaler.ini in your game directory and set ShortcutKey and MenuKey under the [Menu] section.

The Great Awakening (Late Injection & Vulkan Fixes)

Choose a tag to compare

@mnector mnector released this 17 Sep 21:42

💎 Envy-Diamond 2 - v1.0.3

This release introduces critical stability fixes that permanently eliminate the 87ms DLSS-NR timeout micro-stutters across all DirectX 12 games (like Palworld and FINAL FANTASY XVI), while adding full support for strict Vulkan engines (like No Man's Sky).

🐛 The Watchdog Timing Bug (Fixed)

Previously, the EnvyDynamicPacing.asi plugin was injected instantly on startup, missing its chance to patch the AMD Neural Rendering translation proxies (dlssnr_amd_pass*.dll) since the game hadn't loaded them yet.

  • Fix: The ASI is now installed as EnvyDynamicPacing-loadlate.asi. OptiScaler will intentionally wait 30 seconds before injecting it, ensuring all AMD proxies are fully loaded into memory. The "Digital Bottomless Pit" now successfully NOPs the 600ms budget limit, achieving perfect frame pacing under heavy load without 1-second timeout aborts!

⚙️ GPU Auto-Detection Fix

  • Fixed an issue where the installer incorrectly saved the ENY_GPU_GEN variable to a local .env text file instead of the Windows Environment. The ASI plugin was failing safe with Unknown GPU. It now correctly reads the native Windows variables to detect your RDNA architecture and tune the memory patches.

🌌 Vulkan Extension Fix & Limitations (No Man's Sky)

  • Fix: Disabled VulkanExtensionSpoofing for No Man's Sky and other Vulkan games. Previously, attempting to spoof NVIDIA-specific Vulkan extensions caused the AMD driver to strictly reject the instance during vkCreateDevice (Error -7), causing instant crashes.
  • Important Note: Vulkan games cannot be upgraded to DLSS 5. The AMD Neural Rendering proxy (dlssnr_amd) is designed exclusively to intercept DirectX 12 resources. Because of this, Vulkan titles skip the neural passes. However, FSR 3.1 Super Resolution still tunnels perfectly on AMD hardware natively through the DLSS menu!

🎮 New Verified Games

  • FINAL FANTASY XVI (Demo): Full DLSS Neural Rendering (DLSS 5) and OptiScaler translation natively supported out-of-the-box for RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 GPUs.

@mnector mnector released this 13 Sep 10:43

💎 Envy-Diamond-2 v1.0.0 (True Digital Bottomless Pit)

Completes the absolute zero stutter architecture by patching the hidden iteration cap inside dlssnr_amd that was silently killing frames even when the time budget was sufficient!

✨ What's New

  • Iteration Cap Unlocked: Found the .text pattern initializing the cap to 1,298,944 and patched it natively to 50,000,000 (allowing up to ~333ms spin waits safely).
  • Recalculation NOP: Found the .text pattern responsible for dynamically recalculating the cap (which could have overridden our patch) and completely NOPed it.
  • Zero Overhead: All patches are applied natively to memory code segments ONCE during startup, removing the need for VirtualProtect polling loops that caused catastrophic TLB shootdowns in earlier testing.

Envy-Diamond-2 now achieves PERFECT frame pacing under the heaviest OBS capture loads with absolutely zero unprocessed frames leaking to the screen!

💎 Envy-Diamond-2 v0.9.0

This milestone release introduces the Digital Bottomless Pit architecture, completely neutralizing the hardcoded 1-second dlssnr deactivation penalties inside OptiScaler's dxgi.dll.

✨ What's New

  • The Immortal Watchdog (Memory Injector): EnvyDynamicPacing.asi dynamically locates and patches OptiScaler's recovery pending and retry in 1s branches in memory, making the 1000ms penalty mathematically unreachable.
  • Budget Freezer: Prevents the AMD Neural Renderer proxy from dynamically halving its time budget under heavy load (like OBS recording). By freezing the host watchdog budget at 600ms, the game engine can smoothly yield during capture spikes instead of instantly aborting and dropping frames.
  • No TLB-Shootdown Stutters: Memory patches are applied natively to the .text section during initialization without continuous VirtualProtect polling, guaranteeing zero overhead to your CPU cores.

📥 Installation

  1. Extract Envy-Diamond-2-v0.9.0.zip.
  2. Place EnvyDynamicPacing.asi inside your game's OptiScaler/plugins/ folder.
  3. Ensure LoadAsiPlugins=true is set in OptiScaler.ini.
