Through the store you can buy different gardening related items, such as pots, seeds, tools, and fertilizer. You can then use the gardening menu to place pots around your different rooms, and you can then plant seeds in them (you can also plant seeds directly into the ground outside.)

Once you have a plant started, you should keep them watered over time to keep them growing. And if you fertilize them as well you can really get them to thrive.

Having healthy plants around makes your pet happy, but dead plants around can make your pet unhappy with their environment.

Buying supplies

You can use the in-game coins, earned over time or through minigames, to purchase gardening supplies at the store.

You're able to buy tools like the Watering Can and the Spade, as well as different sized pots, and seeds for Cat Grass, Freesia, Rose, and Sunflower plants.

Planting seeds

If you have seeds and the spade, then you can plant seeds. You can either plant them into a pot, or in the ground in the outdoor location.

Placing a pot down

Press Menu 2 and navigate to the Gardening sub-menu. If you own some pots then you'll see Place Pot as an option. Select the pot size you want to place in the world.

You'll be taken back to the location you were in with the pot added and an arrow above it.

You can use left and right to move the pot sideways, and you can use up and down to move the pot between the foreground and the background. In some locations you can even put the pot on shelves and countertops.

Press A to place the pot wherever you want. You can move it later if you want.

Planting in a pot

With at least one empty pot around, you can now plant seeds if you've bought some from the store.

Press Menu 2 and go to the Gardening sub-menu. Select Plant Seed, then select In Pot, then the type of seed you want to plant. You'll be taken to the current room and you'll see a bouncing arrow above the first pot. You can press left or right to cycle between your empty pots to select the one you'd like to plant the seeds in. Press A to plant when ready!

Planting in the ground

In the outdoor scene you can plant seeds directly in the ground.

Similar to planting in a pot, Press Menu 2 and go to the Gardening sub-menu. Select Plant Seed, then select In Ground. Select the type of seed you want to plant and you'll be taken to the outside scene with a little arrow bouncing up and down. Use left and right to move around sideways, and use up and down to move between the foreground and background. Press A when you're ready to plant it.

Tending to plants

You have to tend to your plants to help them thrive, or else they'll slowly wilt and die.

Use the gardening menu's "Tend" option (Menu 2 > Gardening > Tend) to go into plant care mode. Once you activate tending you'll see a little arrow bouncing above the plants in your location. Press left or right to cycle between your plants. Press A on a plant to see the care options for it.

You can:

• Inspect the plant to see what type it is, how healthy it is, and if it needs watering
• Water the plant (if you own a watering can)
• Move the plant, either around the same room or to a different location
• Pluck the plant. This will kill the plant and remove it, and free up the pot or spot for something else.
