Weather
There is a dynamic, detailed, and forecast-able weather system that progresses over time and changes throughout the seasons.
The possible weather patterns are:
- Clear
- Cloudy
- Overcast
- Windy
- Raining
- Storming
- Snowing
These transition from one to another in sensible ways (i.e., an overcast day might clear up or might start to rain.)
The weather changes with the seasons. It's more likely to be rainy and windy in the spring, more likely to be overcast or snowy in the winter. And in addition, the temperature can go from pretty cold in the winter months to quite hot in the summer months. You don't want your pet to spend too long outside in stormy or snowy weather, or in the heat or cold, or they might end up getting sick!
Some cats might get a little startled during lightning strikes too, so you may want to get them calming pets in the bedroom or living room during storms.
The weather has some effects on your pet. Your pet will have their own favorite weather and will get some bonus comfort during those days, even if they're inside just watching the weather through the windows.
To learn your pet's favorite weather, press Menu 1 and navigate down to the Pet Info page. Among a lot of other information about your pet you'll see their favorite things listed (meals, snacks, places, toys, and weather).
From the Forecast page in the game you can see what the weather will likely be for the next few hours and days.
This is a useful place to see the temperature, the season, and the upcoming weather.
Every pet gets their own unique star pattern.
The stars will slowly move across the sky as the seasons change. And the moon will go through a cycle of phases as the days pass too.
And while you have a chance to see a shooting star or two each night, you might see a forecast for a meteor shower with lots of them!
