GoldenEye Recomp Community Fixes v2.2.2
GoldenEye Recomp Community Fixes v2.2.2
This update fixes native music continuity while retaining every repair and runtime file from v2.2.1.
Fixed
- Closing the 007 watch now resumes the interrupted level music from its exact playback position instead of restarting it.
- Opening the watch inside a Control or Caverns elevator pauses and resumes the elevator cue from its exact position.
- Exiting an elevator resumes the underlying level theme from where it stopped.
- Re-entering an elevator intentionally starts its elevator theme from the beginning, matching the original N64 state-machine behavior.
The implementation pauses and resumes the existing native XACT cue object. It does not extract, bundle, or separately mix any music.
Also included
- Mission Select, Control elevator, Caverns elevator, and 007 watch music repairs
- Tank mouse aiming
- Original delayed dead-body fades
- Enhanced Frigate water and horizon repair
- Multiplayer menu crash repair
- Matching ReXGlue, Tracy, Vulkan, and Microsoft runtime DLLs
Install
Extract every file in the Windows x64 ZIP into a normal GoldenEye Recomp 1.2.4 Windows folder and replace the existing executable and DLLs when prompted. Keep the existing assets folder beside GoldenEye.exe.
No game data or audio is included.

GoldenEye Recomp Community Fixes v2.1.0
Combined audio and tank mouse-aim release
Version 2.1.0 keeps the existing native XACT audio repairs and adds the tested
tank mouse-aim fix to the same replacement GoldenEye.exe. Existing users of
this repository do not need to combine separate executables or patches.
Fixed audio
- 007 watch/pause-menu theme
- Mission Select music after abort, failure, and completion
- Control and Caverns elevator/X-track music
- Correct level/elevator restoration after closing the watch
- X-track cleanup across mission restart and Mission Select transitions
All music playback remains entirely native XACT using the user's existing
music.xwb, music.xsb, and music.xgs. No audio or extracted WAV is
distributed.
Fixed controls
- Horizontal and vertical mouse aiming while mounted in the Runway tank
- Simultaneous mouse aiming and W/A/S/D driving
- Horizontal turret movement without holding Aim
The original mouse hook wrote Bond's ordinary camera yaw, which the mounted
tank update rebuilt every frame. The fix detects the game's authoritative
mounted-state flag and shifts the native turret target and smoothed orientation
instead. Native steering, collision rollback, controller input, and vertical
aiming remain intact.
Validation
- Built against GoldenEye Recomp 1.2.4 for Windows x64.
- Regression-tested native watch, Mission Select, and elevator music behavior.
- Tested horizontal and vertical turret aiming on Runway.
- Confirmed W/A/S/D tank driving remains functional while aiming.
- The packaged executable exactly matches the user-tested executable.

GoldenEye Recomp Native XACT Music Fix v2.0.1
Mission Select timer lifecycle fix
This release keeps Mission Select music active after aborting a mission while
an elevator/X-track cue is running.
Root cause
The outgoing level's player pointer remains valid briefly during the transition
to stage 90. Control's 255-second elevator slot therefore continued ticking
behind Mission Select. When it expired, the stale state transition restarted
Control's primary level music over the menu.
v2.0.1 treats the stage-90 request as an immediate X-track lifecycle boundary,
clearing the outgoing slots before Mission Select playback begins.
Included fixes
- 007 watch/pause-menu theme
- Mission Select music after abort, failure, and completion
- Control and Caverns elevator/X-track music
- Correct level/elevator restoration after closing the watch
- X-track cleanup across mission restart and Mission Select transitions
Playback remains entirely native XACT using the user's existing
music.xwb, music.xsb, and music.xgs. No game audio or extracted WAV is
included.
Validation
- Built against GoldenEye Recomp 1.2.4 for Windows x64.
- Regression tested by aborting Control while elevator music was active and
remaining at Mission Select beyond the complete 255-second timer. - Mission Select music remained active.
