gocode v0.23.0
gocode v0.23.0 makes File Auto Save and Revert File functional in the native
Windows workbench, using public Go/godesktop v0.16.0.
Immutable source 4762382 passes all five
jobs on the first attempt in source CI 37678679723.
Publication 37682493872
reuses those tested packages. Actual signed automatic and manual direct GitHub
ZIP bodies, manual ghfast.top, all 25 ordered released console/GUI gates and a
genuine prior-v0.4.0 GUI/VSIX rollback pass. The user's stable launcher selects
this exact v0.23.0 source through direct GitHub; installed console/GUI Auto Save,
actual minimized disk/events/GPU-idle, real GiB split, native UI/icons/settings
and authenticated official SDK/LSP health pass. User configuration, PATH and
stable shortcuts are preserved. Exact hashes and evidence are in the
milestone ledger.
Auto Save supports off, afterDelay, onFocusChange and onWindowChange. File toggles
the checked action; native Settings configures all four modes and the delay.
Bounded scheduling uses the existing immutable, hash-checked atomic writer.
Newer edits remain dirty, conflicts require review, and untitled/read-only large
files cannot produce automatic Save As dialogs. Session flags and new windows
preserve the chosen policy; idempotent settings avoid duplicate writes.
Actual minimized-window UI receipts no longer wait for rendering. Window-change
and delayed saves complete disk/clean/save events while View/GPU submissions
remain stopped. Bounded, cancellable worker retries retain acknowledgements under
UI queue pressure, including file/scan/search/history/Git/language/terminal/update
services. Superseded large-page/debounce receipts are cancelled. Closed terminals
stop per-tab retries and reap their actual processes. Save As excludes overlapping
original-path saves, and frozen path/version checks keep newer edits dirty.
Coalesced keyboard/Auto Save persistence continues behind rejected UI errors;
superseded errors and late shutdown callbacks are cancelled.
Revert uses asynchronous real file reads and explicit dirty-discard confirmation,
preserving newer edits, cancelled requests, missing/binary/oversized sources and
document identity. Close/Reload/history dialogs use actual rounded descendant
clipping; scrolling keeps lower Settings controls reachable. Current Code-OSS
1.141.0 and main-source rounding/provenance remain the native visual reference.
Strict-cgo/race, genuine Node VSIX, owned HWND/GPU/disk, repeated private-root
idempotence and independent public-module checks gate publication. Release assets
reuse the successful exact-source CI packages. Free MSI/ZIP/CLI channels, signed
integrity metadata, automatic/manual mirror routing and stable launcher rollback
are retained; no paid certificates or installer tooling are required.
Full VS Code UI/API/debug/task/refactoring parity remains unfinished. Save
participants (VSIX onWillSave/waitUntil, LSP willSaveWaitUntil, formatting/code
actions on save), settings scopes/hot reload and per-resource exclusions remain
open. Default catalog is Open VSX; the native Gallery adapter requires separate
authorization for Microsoft's official Marketplace. Copilot keeps the accepted
official SDK/Language Server path; full official Copilot VSIX parity is not
claimed. New native product acceptance targets Windows amd64; the shared Metal
regression gates pass on both Mac architectures for this source.
Floating shadows and independent extension-detail scrolling remain unpublished.
gocode v0.22.0
gocode v0.22.0 prioritizes Windows workbench menus and extension interactions,
using the public native Go/godesktop v0.15.0 framework.
File, Edit, Selection, View, Go, Run, Terminal and Help now have distinct native
popups, submenus, separators, shortcut labels, disabled actions and keyboard
selection. Unpressed hover, Alt mnemonics, F10/arrows/Enter/Escape and narrow
menubar overflow are handled. The command center is centered in the window;
Ctrl+P opens file Quick Open and Ctrl+Shift+P opens a filtered command palette.
Current Code-OSS Modern UI sources guide rounded controls, 8px menus/Quick Input
and the editor's 1px rounded frame. Descendant GPU clipping applies to text,
intrinsic emoji, images and nested backgrounds; rounded hit areas reject corners.
File New Text File creates an untitled editable buffer. Open File/Open Folder,
Save As and Install from VSIX use process-owned Windows shell dialogs on a
separate STA. Unicode paths/emoji, cancellation and overwrite prompts feed
bounded immutable snapshot saves. New targets commit without replacing a racing
file; existing targets retain hash conflict guards. Save All/close confirmation
route untitled documents through Save As. New windows/reload/folder transitions
retain source files and close the old services before replacement startup.
Extensions has native search/details, actual manifest contributions, local VSIX
installation, persistent enable/disable and deferred uninstall/reload. Real
Open VSX searches use cancellable bounded workers. Downloads explicitly resolve
Windows x64/universal versions, check available SHA256 and validate the selected
VSIX identity/version before extraction. Disabled extensions are absent from the
next real Node host. Closing a detail editor restores source focus.
The native -extension-gallery-url option supports an authorized compatible VS
Gallery service: source-derived query headers/flags, bounded responses, Windows
x64/universal package selection and actual VSIX installation. The selected store
name appears in the workbench. Microsoft's Marketplace requires separate service
authorization for alternative products; default catalog remains Open VSX. Real
TLS/ZIP/Node tests prove the protocol and installed command, not official access.
VS Code and JetBrains keyboard presets are built in and switch through native
Settings or the command palette, with persisted choices and matching menu labels.
JetBrains supports Find Action/Go to File/Recent Files/double Shift, Save All,
close/format/definition/hover/search/replace/terminal/settings for existing features.
Reserved unsupported shortcuts cannot accidentally invoke VS Code close/new file.
Repeat acceptance isolates temporary workspaces/settings/extensions, cleans them
after each run and reuses evidence filenames; owned process jobs clean failures.
Owned Windows console/GUI acceptance exercises actual pointers, shell dialogs,
exact Chinese/emoji disk saves, keyboard/hover, genuine VSIX actions and actual
new/replacement application processes. Public-module strict-cgo/race/PE/native
and existing GiB/editor/Git/terminal/LSP/Copilot regressions remain required.
Publication reuses exact-source CI packages; free update/install channels retain
the stable launcher, automatic/direct/mirror routing and rollback checks.
Full VS Code UI/API parity remains unfinished. Unimplemented menu commands stay
disabled. Rich extension README/icons/rating/theme rendering, Auto Save, persistent
Recent/workspace history and full debug/task/editing APIs are still pending.
Open VSX is a separate catalog from Microsoft's Marketplace. Copilot keeps the
accepted official SDK/Language Server integration; official Copilot VSIX parity
is not claimed. New native file dialogs target Windows; Mac feature work is
deferred. Exact source/test/install evidence is in agent docs/windows-workbench.md.
gocode v0.21.0
gocode v0.21.0 adds native Source Control using real installed Git and public
godesktop v0.13.0. Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+G opens repository status, initialization,
individual/all staging and unstaging, a Unicode commit message and index-only
commit. Existing identity/hooks/signing settings are respected. Dirty open
documents and stale HEAD/index snapshots reject unsafe actions; unstaging and
committing preserve working-tree bytes.
Clicking a resource opens a native read-only side-by-side diff with aligned line
numbers, syntax colors, red/green changes and virtual synchronized scrolling.
Original/staged/worktree text is derived from exact bounded snapshots. Literal
Unicode/CRLF/rename paths, SHA256 repositories and linked worktrees are covered;
binary metadata, large-file bounds, conflicts and submodules fail explicitly.
Returning to an editor tab restores editing, and delayed diff jobs preserve newer
focus. Escape/Ctrl+W closes the diff; page/arrow/home/end navigate its rows.
Git operations use a bounded cancellable worker. Windows launches suspended with
only owned stdio handles and joins a kill-on-close Job Object before execution;
Mac/Linux use owned process groups. Actual descendant cancellation, Unicode
stdin, stdout/stderr caps, malformed status records and real Git repository
fixtures complement the native pointer stage/unstage/restage/commit gate.
Windows console/GUI and both Mac architectures retain GPU diff PNG/JSON evidence,
including Mac normal/1.5/2 densities. Existing terminal/VSIX/large-file/editor/LSP
regressions remain required.
Publication requires successful exact-source five-platform CI and reuses its
tested packages. Free signed metadata, direct/mirror updates, rollback and user
settings/PATH preservation remain supported. Copilot continues through the chosen
official SDK/Language Server route while VSIX compatibility expands.
Full diff editing/hunk staging, merge/history/branch/remote/multi-repository and
extension SCM APIs remain pending, alongside full VS Code/GPUI/Copilot VSIX
parity. Precise bounds and source/release/installed evidence are recorded in
agent docs/scm.md and status.md.
gocode v0.20.0
gocode v0.19.0 uses public godesktop v0.12.0 to preserve intrinsic Windows color-font glyphs. Native DirectWrite shaping/fallback feeds bounded Direct2D COLR/COLRv1 RGBA cache pages; ordinary text keeps R8 and its foreground tint. Colored details are rasterized at a bounded physical baseline phase and placed without a second filter. Opacity, shader clipping and one mixed GPU batch remain effective. Generated DXIL is tracked by cgo, and explicit nonuniform indexing passes the existing GPU-validation lifecycle gates.
Windows and Mac native split gates require actual yellow emoji pixels in both editor viewports. The real Windows ConPTY command now emits emoji inside its ANSI truecolor output; the decoded frame must contain the complete colored sequence, followed by actual owned GPU color pixels. Existing input highlighting, keyboard, grid/window resize, Ctrl+C, shell exit, shared-source, VSIX, UTF-16/CRLF/save, LSP, search/history, actual GiB and installer checks remain required. Both Mac architectures retain normal/1.5/2 terminal and editor checks.
Publication requires successful exact-source five-platform CI and reuses its tested MSI/ZIP and Mac bundles. Signed automatic/manual updates retain direct/mirror routing, rollback and settings/PATH preservation. Copilot continues through the accepted official SDK/Language Server route while VSIX compatibility expands.
Windows PowerShell sessions explicitly select UTF-8 for Console input/output and native pipelines after loading user profiles. This fixes real Console.WriteLine Chinese/emoji output becoming question marks with inherited OEM code pages. Actual PowerShell 7 and 5.1 regression processes start with OEM 437/ASCII and require decoded ANSI-colored Unicode output; profile files and the system locale remain untouched.
Dedicated third-party SVG/bitmap/currentColor font fixtures, Mac terminal native window-width resize, complete tabGroups/preview/pin/docking/persistence, editor options/decorations/snippets/undo merging, multi-window, IME/grapheme/bidi/multicursor/accessibility, SCM/DAP/tasks/remote/webviews and full VS Code/GPUI/official Copilot VSIX parity remain active work. Exact source, package, release and installed evidence belongs in agent docs/status.md and color-glyphs.md.

Exact source, package, release and installed evidence belongs in agent docs/status.md and color-glyphs.md.
gocode v0.18.0
gocode v0.18.0 uses public godesktop v0.11.0 to preserve intrinsic Mac emoji colors. Faces, flags, skin tones, ZWJ sequences and variation selectors retain CoreText RGBA while ordinary text keeps its foreground tint. Label opacity and shader clipping remain effective. Mixed glyph pages retain painter order in one GPU batch with a 16 MiB/16-page active atlas; static texture-slot sampling passes Intel and Apple Silicon native gates.
Native split acceptance now checks actual emoji colors in both editor viewports. Terminal acceptance replaces the previous Mac no-op capture with completed process-owned Metal pixels, matching the owned HWND capture on Windows. It verifies command/string highlighting, ANSI truecolor and native Mac PTY emoji, saving PNG and JSON evidence. Both Mac architectures run normal, 1.5 and 2 drawable density. Existing Windows ConPTY keyboard/resize/interrupt/exit and independent editor, VSIX, UTF-16/CRLF/save, LSP, search/history, actual GiB and installer gates remain required.
Publication requires successful exact-source five-platform CI and reuses its tested Windows MSI/ZIP and Mac bundles. Automatic/manual updates retain the existing signed-integrity, direct/mirror routing, rollback and settings/PATH preservation contracts. Copilot continues along the accepted official SDK/Language Server route while VSIX compatibility expands.
Windows native color fonts, Mac terminal native window-width resize, complete tabGroups/preview/pin/docking/persistence, editor options/decorations/snippets/undo merging, multi-window, complete IME/grapheme/bidi/multicursor/accessibility, SCM/DAP/tasks/remote/webviews and full VS Code/GPUI/official Copilot VSIX parity remain active work. Exact source, release, package and installed evidence belongs in agent docs/status.md and color-glyphs.md.
gocode v0.17.0
gocode v0.17.0 connects real VSIX TextEditor objects to native editor groups using public godesktop v0.10.0. One canonical TextDocument is shared by distinct visible views; hidden tabs stay out of visibleTextEditors. View identity survives column renumbering, while disposed views and reopened documents reject stale operations. The tree supports nine groups and Ctrl/Cmd+1..9.
workspace.openTextDocument loads an eligible document on the bounded worker without focusing or showing a tab. showTextDocument supports Active/Beside/One–Nine, preserveFocus and UTF-16 selection. A causal receipt keeps delayed opens from stealing newer focus. Selection, reveal and edits run in order, validate view/document/version, and publish native visibility, column, range, selection and focus events. Independent manual/reveal scrolling persists until caret movement resumes. Actual Document.save still waits for disk acknowledgement.
The new native -groups-vsix-smoke installs a real temporary VSIX, verifies hidden/shared views, Unicode/CRLF edit and independent reveal, uses actual mouse focus/close, checks surviving/disposed references, and verifies saved bytes. Windows console/GUI and Mac Intel/ARM normal/1.5/2 gates join the existing editor, recovered LSP, history/search, highlighted terminal, actual GiB split and installer regressions. Publication requires successful exact-source CI and reuses its tested packages.
Short position queries and bounded line previews no longer copy whole multi-megabyte lines. Optional Node hosts use owned source/config files instead of Windows command-line-sized payloads, with bounded requests and exit cleanup. Native service admission rejects files over 2 MiB before whole-file reads. Huge-file browsing remains bounded and read-only.
Full tabGroups, preview/pin/docking/persistence, editor options/decorations/snippets/undo merging, multi-window, complete IME/grapheme/bidi/multicursor/accessibility, SCM/DAP and full VS Code/GPUI/official Copilot VSIX parity remain open. Copilot follows the accepted official SDK/Language Server route while VSIX compatibility expands. Exact source, release, package and installed evidence belongs in agent docs/status.md.
gocode v0.16.0
gocode v0.16.0 adds native right/down editor groups. Ctrl/Cmd+\ splits right, Shift adds a downward split, and Ctrl/Cmd+1..8 focuses groups. Native 4-DIP sashes resize the layout. Each group has independent tabs, caret, selection and scroll while sharing one canonical document, undo history, save points and LSP/VSIX lifecycle.
Closing a shared view preserves dirty text and its services. Close group confirms only dirty resources unique to that group; Save waits for actual disk acknowledgement. Captured toolbar actions reject changed or expired groups, and background opens retain their originating group without stealing newer focus. UTF-16 caret transforms preserve Chinese/emoji and multiline CRLF edits across views.
Huge-file views share one bounded file-backed index with independent page requests and cancellation. The reader remains alive after the original view closes and is released with the last document view. Native acceptance streams actual files, renders first/tail pages in separate viewports, closes the original and reads again, then verifies the whole-file SHA256. Windows 2025 adds an actual 1 GiB split; Windows console/GUI and Mac Intel/ARM normal/1.5/2 gates accompany existing race, VSIX, recovered LSP, search/history, highlighted terminal and installer regressions. Publication requires successful exact-source CI and reuses its tested packages.
The split tree allows at most eight groups. Full group persistence, tab move/drop/docking, multi-window and VSIX visibleTextEditors/viewColumn remain unfinished. Large files stay read-only. Complete IME/grapheme/bidi/multicursor/accessibility, SCM/DAP and full VS Code/GPUI/official Copilot VSIX parity remain open. Copilot follows the accepted official SDK/Language Server route while VSIX compatibility expands. Exact source, release, package and installed evidence belongs in agent docs/status.md.
gocode v0.15.0
gocode v0.15.0 adds grouped workspace undo and redo for replacement. Ctrl/Cmd+Z offers Undo in N Files, Undo this File and Cancel; Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y redoes a valid group. Newer edits or closed/reopened members split to the current file and preserve other documents. Earlier local history, UTF-16/CRLF selection and saved revisions remain intact.
Public godesktop v0.9.0 prepares genuine undo/redo stack transitions from immutable history snapshots. One dedicated bounded worker computes prospective text; complete UI preflight validates every document identity, version, caret, revision and history stack before committing the entire batch. Callbacks follow all commits. Changed or expired groups and stale worker/modal results cannot overwrite newer edits. Undo/redo never writes disk; explicit saves retain external hash-conflict protection. Groups retain only bounded metadata and do not pin closed document text.
The native replacement gate now clicks actual Cancel/All/current-file controls, checks completed modal GPU text/button pixels, undoes both files and redoes through native shortcuts. Held-receipt race tests cover newer text/carets, reopened identities, group expiry, modal changes, shutdown, atomic notifications, real external bytes and saved history. Windows console/GUI and Mac Intel/ARM normal/1.5/2 acceptance accompany existing search, actual GiB browsing, tabs, VSIX, recovered LSP, highlighted terminal and installer gates. Publication requires successful exact-source CI and reuses its tested packages.
Workspace history retains at most 32 groups and 128 members per group. Preview limits remain 5,000 results, 8 MiB source/output per file and 64 MiB aggregate source/output; large-file browsing stays read-only. History across closed resources, compound/provider undo, full JS/PCRE2, individual replacement controls, complete diff/encoding/multi-root, SCM/DAP and full VS Code/GPUI/official Copilot VSIX parity remain open. Copilot follows the accepted official SDK/Language Server route while VSIX compatibility expands. Exact source, release, package and installed evidence belongs in agent docs/status.md.
gocode v0.14.0
gocode v0.14.0 adds native workspace replacement. Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+H opens its field; Preview verifies complete current search results and displays before/after values. Replace all adopts the reviewed buffer batch and saves each file through the existing background actor. Unsaved source, Unicode/UTF-16 coordinates, LF/CRLF and older undo history are preserved.
Public godesktop v0.8.0 prepares immutable editor transactions off the UI thread. Before applying, workers check every expected disk revision; UI checks document identity/version/caret, including after open hooks. Query changes, edits, reopened documents and a different preview arriving during a captured click reject stale work. Late save conflicts preserve dirty replacements and external bytes with a visible unsaved count. Disk saves are per-file transactions, not filesystem-wide atomicity.
The new native gate types actual queries/captures/replacements, verifies red/green completed GPU pixels, modifies an owned disk file to prove rejection, re-previews and saves two real files, then uses blank-editor click and native Undo. The blank-area focus bug found by this gate is fixed. Node JavaScript capture oracles, held-receipt race/model tests and Windows console/GUI plus Mac Intel/ARM normal/1.5/2 acceptance accompany existing search, actual GiB browsing, tabs, VSIX, LSP, terminal and installer checks.
Preview limits are 128 matched files, 5,000 results, 8 MiB source/output per file and 64 MiB aggregate source/output. Large-file browsing remains read-only. Full JS/PCRE2 replacement compatibility, global workspace undo, individual/file controls, complete diff/provider/encoding/multi-root, SCM/DAP and full VS Code/GPUI/official Copilot VSIX parity remain open. Copilot retains the accepted official SDK/Language Server route. Exact source, release, package and installed evidence belongs in agent docs/status.md.
