Release list
BookmarkUp v1.4.1
A polish release: consistent blue accents, accessibility clean-ups, and the groundwork for a Chrome Web Store launch.
Highlights
- Consistent blue - focus outlines across the popup now use the brand blue instead of the old purple, in light and dark.
- Accessibility polish - the settings toggles, status messages, and labels use more robust, screen-reader-friendly markup.
- Chrome Web Store on the way - the project now has a privacy policy, a promo gallery on the website, and an "Add to Chrome" listing prepared, so BookmarkUp can ship on the Web Store.
No new permissions - this release adds and changes none.

- 12 languages - English, Slovenian, German, French, Spanish, Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, Russian, Hindi, Arabic, and Chinese.
- Right-to-left - the popup switches to RTL layout for Arabic.

BookmarkUp v1.2.1
A polish-and-fixes release - a fresh grouped-card settings look, a new icon, and several navigation fixes.
Highlights
- New settings look - the settings sections are now clean grouped cards, easier to scan.
- New icon - refreshed BookmarkUp logo.
- Back button fixed - opening a bookmark in the current tab (search-engine same-tab, or same-site) no longer drops the previous page from Back.
- Search-engine same-tab on Google - now works reliably; it previously collided with Google's own page and did nothing.
- New-tab reliability - a tab you just opened is no longer mistaken for a bookmark's own tab, so a quick bookmark click opens a new tab as expected.
What's Changed
- Refactor/project structure by @neratmatevz in #6
- Fix/browser back button skips page on sampage by @neratmatevz in #7
- Style/settings section look by @neratmatevz in #8

BookmarkUp v1.2.0
Adds per-tab control over how bookmarks open - a master Bookmark bar switch, per-bookmark overrides, search-engine behavior, and a same-site option.
Highlights
- Bookmark bar functionality - a master on/off switch in Settings to turn the new-tab behavior on or off for your whole bookmarks bar.
- Per bookmark - override that switch for individual bookmarks, so you can keep new-tab on for most and off for a few (or the reverse).
- Search engine behavior - on a search engine (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and more), choose per engine whether bookmarks open in a new tab (default) or the same tab.
- Same-site in current tab - when a bookmark points to the site you're already on, open it in that tab instead of a new one.
- Settings polish - refreshed section styling, spacing, and headings.
No new permissions - reading the current tab's URL (for the search-engine and same-site behaviors) uses the <all_urls> host access the extension already had; nothing new is requested.
What's Changed
- Feat/unmark bookmarks by @neratmatevz in #2
- Feat/per bookmark opt out by @neratmatevz in #3
- Feat/search engine behavior by @neratmatevz in #4
- Feat/same site behavior by @neratmatevz in #5

BookmarkUp v1.1.0
Adds a Settings panel inside the popup, a theme selector, a clean remove-extension flow, and a blue color scheme.
Highlights
- Settings panel - open the ⚙ gear in the popup (Esc/← to go back); collapsible sections.
- Theme - System, Light, or Dark, remembered across sessions.
- Open in background - the background-tab toggle now lives in Settings.
- Delete extension - restores your bookmarks to their original links, clears saved settings, and uninstalls - with a two-step confirm so it can't happen by accident.
- Blue color scheme - toggles and focus borders use the icon's blue; the popup is a touch wider and taller.
No new permissions - removing uses chrome.management.uninstallSelf (exempt from the management permission, so no new warning).

BookmarkUp v1.0.0
The first release of BookmarkUp - open any bookmark in a new tab with a single left click, without losing your place in the tab you're on.
Why
Left-clicking a bookmark normally replaces your current page, losing your scroll position or anything you'd typed. BookmarkUp makes a plain left click open the bookmark in a new tab and leaves your
current tab untouched - no reload, no flicker, unsaved text preserved. Built for laptops and touchpads, where middle-click and Ctrl+click are awkward.
Features
- Left-click a bookmark on the bar → new tab, and your current tab doesn't budge
- Middle-click still works exactly as before
- Toolbar popup with a searchable list of all your bookmarks (Ctrl+Shift+U)
- Background mode to open several bookmarks at once
- Search + keyboard navigation (type to filter, arrows to move, Enter to open)
- Light & dark themes, following your system
Install (Developer Mode - until it's on the Chrome Web Store)
- Download
BookmarkUp-1.0.0.zipbelow and unzip it. - Open
chrome://extensions(orbrave://extensions). - Turn on Developer mode (top-right).
- Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder (the one containing
manifest.json). - Pin BookmarkUp and start left-clicking your bookmarks.
Works in Chrome, Brave, and other Chromium browsers (version 116+).
