Installation
Download prebuilt binaries from GitHub Releases, or build from source (Building from Source).
Alpha note: Jellyx is unsigned on Windows. SmartScreen may warn. Linux
.deb/.rpmare the recommended path.
- Go to Releases
- Pick the asset for your OS (see table below)
- Install with your package manager or run the portable/AppImage
- Open Jellyx and add a source in User Guide → Settings
| Platform | Recommended | Also available | Notes |

| Linux |
.deb / .rpm

AppImage needs NO_STRIP=1 at build time (RELR relocation) |
| macOS (Apple Silicon) | DMG | — | Current CI/release produces Apple Silicon (aarch64) DMG only; Intel DMG is not currently produced |
| Windows | NSIS setup.exe

Unsigned → SmartScreen warning expected |
# Debian/Ubuntu
sudo dpkg -i jellyx_*_amd64.deb
# Fedora/RHEL
sudo rpm -i jellyx-*.x86_64.rpm
# AppImage (portable)
chmod +x Jellyx-*.AppImage
./Jellyx-*.AppImageRuntime dependencies are bundled where possible. The build also requires webkit2gtk-4.1, libgtk-3-dev, libappindicator3-dev at build time — see Building from Source.
Open the DMG and drag Jellyx to Applications. First launch: right-click → Open to bypass Gatekeeper (alpha is unsigned).
- Apple Silicon: recommended. The current CI/release workflow produces the Apple Silicon (aarch64) DMG only.
- Intel: an Intel DMG is deferred and not currently produced.
Run JellyxSetup.exe (NSIS). SmartScreen may warn because the app is unsigned — choose More info → Run anyway. Portable .exe and .msi are also available.
The v0.3.2 GitHub release/tag exists, but at that tag the three version files (jellyx-desktop/Cargo.toml, jellyx-desktop/tauri.conf.json, ui/package.json) still report 0.3.1. As a result, the in-app About page may show 0.3.1 for the v0.3.2 build. This is a packaging-time sync bug, not a different app. See Release History and Release Process.
