User Guide

How to use Jellyx day to day. Covers screens, workflows, and settings.

Quick path

  1. Open Jellyx
  2. In Settings, toggle configurable remote sources (YouTube, SoundCloud) as desired; local library/folder support is always available
  3. Use Search to find a track, or open Library for your saved items
  4. Play → it enters the Now Playing queue
  5. Adjust visuals/mini-player in Settings

Screens

Screen Purpose
Home Landing / discover
Search Find tracks across enabled sources
Library Your saved tracks, favorites, history
Playlists Create and manage playlists
Now Playing Current track, queue, controls
Album Album view
Artist Artist view
Settings Toggles, visuals, language, About

Navigation between these is via the sidebar/header in the Svelte UI.

Workflows

Play a track

  1. Go to Search
  2. Type a query; results come from enabled sources
  3. Select a track → it is added to the queue and starts playing
  4. Use Now Playing for queue management and controls

Save a track

  • From a track: add to Favorites or a Playlist
  • Recent plays appear in History

Local library/folder

  1. Local library/folder support is always available (it is not a Settings toggle like the remote sources)
  2. Add a local folder
  3. Local files are decoded locally with Symphonia — no upload, no external call

Mini-player skin v0.3.x skin selection
Mini-player scale Size of the mini-player
Cinematic mode Toggle ambient full-screen visuals
Cinematic intensity How strong the ambient effect is
Hide title bar (Linux) Remove window title bar

About App version, repo links

Visual modes

  • Real-time visualizers — shown in Now Playing; driven by live FFT data.
  • Cinematic ambient mode — full-screen ambient visuals; intensity configurable in Settings.
  • Mini-player — compact skin; choose skin and scale in Settings.

About / version

The About page shows the app version and links to the repo.

Known: For the v0.3.2 release, in-app About may report 0.3.1 because the version files were not bumped at that tag. See Release History.
