You can move and turn the full robot in the document. The joint values do not change. The command moves the robot's base frame. See Joint Model.
- Right-click the robot in the model tree.
- Click Place Robot (3D).
The standard FreeCAD Transform panel opens.

| Entry | Function |
|---|---|
| Mode | Position of the dragger, for example the object origin |
| Snapping | Step for the movement (mm) and the rotation (°) |
| Coordinate system | Local or global axes for the movement |
| Translation (U, V, W) | Type a distance along an axis |
| Rotation (U, V, W) | Type an angle around an axis |
| Move to Other Object | Put the robot on a different object |
| Flip | Invert the direction |
OK keeps the new position. Cancel moves the robot back.
The triad shows at the robot base in the 3D view.

- Pull an arrow (U, V, W) to move the robot along that axis.
- Pull a ring to turn the robot around that axis.
- The snapping values apply to the movement.
- The new position goes to the robot's
BasePlacement. The robot keeps its pose. - You can also type the position: select the BaseFrame in the tree and change its placement, or set
BasePlacementin the robot properties. - From Python:
get_robot().base = App.Placement(...). See Scripting API.
