Reci Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 21, 2026
Reci is an iPhone app developed and provided by Hajime Nakamura as an individual. This page explains what the app does and does not collect.
The app has no account registration. It never asks for your name, email address, or phone number, and there is no login.
The receipt images you capture, the recognized date / store / amount / tax rate / registration number, the account categories, tags, and notes you add — all of the content you work with is stored only on your device.
- It is never sent to the developer's servers (the app has no such server)
- Deleting the app deletes the on-device data
The usage measurement and crash reporting described below never include the content of your receipts (images, amounts, store names, notes, etc.).
Capturing receipts uses your device's camera and document scanner (VisionKit). Reading text from the image (date, store, amount, and so on) is processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device text recognition (Vision). Images and recognition results are never sent to an external server. Captured images are stored on your device and can be deleted at any time.
The app stores your receipt data only on your device and does not sync it to the developer's or any third party's cloud.
If you have iOS's own "iCloud Backup" turned on, Apple's system may include this app's data in your device backup, allowing it to be restored (e.g., when you switch phones). This is an Apple feature governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (the developer cannot see the contents).
- Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Exports to freee, Money Forward, Yayoi, and generic CSV are generated on your device and handed to a destination you choose (mail, Files, another app, etc.) via the iOS share sheet. They never pass through the developer's servers. You decide where they go.
To improve the app, we use Google's Firebase Analytics to measure anonymous usage such as the following. We do not send the content you work with (receipt images, amounts, store names, notes). We record only "that an action happened" and counts.
Examples of measured actions:
- Capturing / saving a receipt (and counts)
- Completing the confirmation card, changing an account category
- Exporting to CSV / accounting-software formats (which format, counts)
- Adding a business (project)
- Showing the paywall (Reci Pro), purchasing or restoring Pro
In doing so, Firebase obtains information such as the app instance ID (an identifier assigned per app install), device model, OS version, and coarse region. These are not used to identify you personally and are not linked to a name or email (which I do not have in the first place).

So that crashes can be diagnosed and fixed, we use Google's Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash information (technical logs at the time of the crash, device model, OS version, etc.). This is used only to fix defects and never includes the content of your receipts (images, amounts, store names, notes).
Some features are available through "Reci Pro", a one-time purchase via Apple's App Store (not a subscription). Payment is processed by Apple; the developer never receives payment details such as credit card numbers. Whether you have purchased is determined from the App Store entitlement (receipt) on your device — no developer server is involved. Information about App Store purchases is handled under Apple's Privacy Policy.
The app does not request ATT permission. It does not obtain the advertising identifier (IDFA) used to track you across other companies' apps and websites, does not track you, and shows no ads.
- Delete one at a time: swipe left on a receipt in the list, or delete it from the detail screen
- Delete on-device data: deleting the app deletes the data on your device
- Delete measurement data: the usage / crash data above is keyed to the app instance ID. Deleting the app deletes this ID; reinstalling assigns a new one (not linked to prior data). No request or procedure is needed
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
Other than Google (Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics) described above, we do not provide, share, or sell your data.
If we update this policy, we will post it on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
