Link Play

Two devices running omega-zero can link over Wi-Fi with no router: one hosts and the other joins.

  1. Open the cart and pick gpSP for Pokémon (X on the shelf).
  2. In the game, press SELECT + MENU and choose the link.
  3. On the LINK panel, one player sets ROLE to HOST and the other to JOIN, with Left and Right. Where the game can, SELECT switches MODE between CABLE and WIRELESS. A links; while it looks for the other player, B cancels.

Pokémon Emerald, FireRed and LeafGreen link, and so do both Advance Wars. mGBA's link mode plays Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and Game Boy link plays Tetris.

A link uses the same radio as home Wi-Fi, so it takes over from it while it lasts and hands it back when it ends.

Link play is for the GBA and the Game Boys. In a SNES game, SELECT + MENU says No link support; in a PlayStation game it opens DISC instead; see Controls.
