The server settings panel, accessible from the ship selection screen on the EmptyEpsilon server only, configures settings that apply server-wide regardless of the client or scenario.
It configures the following settings:
- Scan complexity: Defines the default number of sliders that the player must synchronize in the scanning minigame on Science and related crew screens, and also the number of successes required the complete a scan. Individual targets might set higher relative or absolute difficulties. Defaults to Normal. See Scanning minigame for details.
- Hacking difficulty: Defines the default hacking minigame difficulty level. Options are Simple, Normal, Difficult (default), and Fiendish. See Hacking minigame for details.
- Hacking type: Defines which hacking minigames are made available to the player. Defaults to All. See Hacking minigame for details.
-
Collision damage: Defines whether all collisions with other objects that have a hull component can result in damage to both objects. Collision damage scales with the relative collision speed, and continuous collisions incur damage once per second. Regardless of this setting, this does not change collision damage behavior with asteroids.
- Off (default): No collision damage with other hulls.
- Minor: Collisions deal damage, but that damage is generally reduced.
- Dangerous: Collisions deal significant damage, even at lower speeds.
- Lethal: Collisions of all types can quickly or instantly destroy ships or stations.
- Beam/shield frequencies: Toggles whether to use frequency mechanics for beam weapons and shields. Defaults to on. If disabled, beam and shield frequency and calibration controls are removed from crew screens such as Weapons.
- Per-system damage: Toggles whether individual ship systems can take damage. Defaults to on. If disabled, health indicators and repair functionality is removed from Engineering and related crew screens.
- Multiple waypoint sets: Toggles whether Relay and related crew screens can have multiple colored sets of waypoints. Defaults to off. If enabled, this adds waypoint-set selection controls to screens that set waypoints.
- Waypoint routes: Toggles whether Relay and related crew screens can toggle drawing a route line between waypoints of a set, connecting them in waypoint numeric order. Defaults to off. If enabled, this adds waypoint route toggle controls to screens that set waypoints.
