The Ship Window screen gives you an unobstructed 3D view outside the ship: zero degrees to look forward (similar to the main screen), 90 degrees to look right, 270 degrees to look left, 180 degrees to look aft or any number of degrees, 0 to 359 for any custom view direction you want.
