This wiki contains a summary of some good-to-know information when it comes to using the OpenTagViewer app.

Prerequisites

To use the app at this point in time, you're going to need:

• A (free) Apple Account with 2FA enabled either via SMS or Trusted Device
• One or more AirTags, which need to already be registered with Apple via the iOS FindMy app
  • Currently this requires somebody to have an iOS device (i.e. iPad or iPhone) to register them.
  • This iOS device is only needed during registration. The owner of the iOS device can simply share their AirTags with your new Apple Account.
• A Mac or (free) MacOS Virtual Machine.
