VeloPopuli v0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 19 Oct 09:56

VeloPopuli — the people's indoor ride. Ride real GPX routes in 3D on your smart trainer. Free and open source. velopopuli.com · Guides

This is an early release. The 3D world, physics, workouts and progress tracking are well tested; real trainers and sensors are only now being tried, and the Windows and Linux builds have had little use. If something doesn't work, the app's Report a problem → Report on GitHub builds a diagnostics report for you — please send one.

What's new in 0.3.0

  • Virtual gears (optional): leave the bike in one gear and shift with keys, a Bluetooth remote or on-screen buttons. Set up your own chainrings and cassette or pick a preset; the trainer's resistance changes so each gear feels real. Riders who shift their bike's own gears don't need to change anything. How it works
  • Now licensed under the GNU GPL v3 or later, so VeloPopuli and anything built from it stays open source. Earlier versions have been relicensed too.
  • For contributors: a contribution guide, project handoff notes, issue and pull-request templates, and automatic formatting checks.
