raandree edited this page Sep 6, 2026 · 1 revision

SYNOPSIS

Gets selected security descriptor sections from local registry keys.

SYNTAX

Get-RegistryKeySecurityDescriptor [-Path] <Object[]> [-RegistryView <WindowsRegistryView>]
 [-Sections <WindowsSecurityDescriptorSection>] [-ThrottleLimit <Int32>]
 [<CommonParameters>]

DESCRIPTION

Resolves local registry provider or native key paths, reads only the selected owner, group, DACL, or SACL sections, and emits portable SDDL with the original binary descriptor. A registry symbolic link is followed, so the descriptor is the one of the key the link names.
