SYNOPSIS

Sets selected security descriptor sections on local services or the SCM.

SYNTAX

Service (Default)

Set-ServiceSecurityDescriptor [-Name] <Object[]> -Sddl <String> [-Sections <WindowsSecurityDescriptorSection>]
 [-ThrottleLimit <Int32>] [-PassThru] [-WhatIf] [-Confirm]

ServiceControlManager

Set-ServiceSecurityDescriptor [-ServiceControlManager] -Sddl <String>
 [-Sections <WindowsSecurityDescriptorSection>] [-ThrottleLimit <Int32>] [-PassThru]
 [-WhatIf] [-Confirm] [<CommonParameters>]

DESCRIPTION

Parses SDDL as data and persists only selected sections to local named services or the explicit local Service Control Manager target.

EXAMPLES

Set-ServiceSecurityDescriptor -Name BITS -Sddl 'D:(A;;CC;;;WD)' -Sections Access -WhatIf

Previews replacing only the BITS service DACL.
