Setting up Wordpress
In short: WordPress is an open source content management system (CMS) that is free and very versatile. Almost every hosting provider supports it and it will be set up pretty quickly.
There are a lot of good tutorialsthat show you how to install and maintain WordPress. Here are some you might be interested in:

If you don't know anything about WordPress, don't worry! There is for sure someone close to you who can help you. Just ask on Facebook or Twitter.
There are a lot of free and paid design choices for WordPress. For pingeb.org we used a commercial theme, but free ones will do the job too.
As most users will access your site on a mobile device, there is also no need for giant artwork or fancy graphics. A catchy logo and basic html will do the job. If your theme is not mobile responsive (meaning it fits desktop and mobile browsers), we recommend the free WPtouch plugin.
In addition to a securely running WordPress installation you will need a couple of plugins
