Notifications
Warracker sends proactive alerts before warranties expire, so a deadline never sneaks up on you. There are two delivery channels, configured per user in Settings → Notification Settings, plus site-wide Apprise settings for admins.
- Email notifications
- Apprise notifications (100+ services)
- Notify once per threshold
- Testing that alerts work
Set Notification Channel to Email (or Both) in your Notification Settings. Then choose:
- Notification Frequency — Daily, Weekly, or Monthly: how often the scheduler sends you a digest of warranties approaching expiry.
- Notification Time — the time of day (24-hour format) the digest goes out.
- Timezone — so the send time is interpreted in your local time.
Email alerts cover warranties inside your Expiring Soon Days window (Settings → Preferences, default 30 days). The links inside notification emails are built from the admin's Email Base URL (Site Settings), so make sure it points at your public Warracker address.
Set Notification Channel to Apprise (or Both) for push alerts via Apprise — Discord, Slack, Telegram, Gotify, ntfy, email-to-push, and 100+ more. Each user picks their own frequency, time, and timezone, same as email.
Admins also configure site-wide Apprise in Settings → Admin Settings → Apprise Notifications:
- Notification Mode — Global Summary (one digest) or Per User (each user notified individually).
- Warranty Scope — All Users' Warranties or Admin's Warranties Only.
- Notification URLs — Apprise service URLs, one per line.
-
Notification Days — the thresholds, comma-separated, default
7,30. - Check Frequency — how often the system scans: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
-
Message Title Prefix — default
[Warracker].
This is the key behavior to understand: each expiry threshold notifies exactly once per warranty, per channel. If a warranty is 30 days from expiry, you get the 30-day alert once — not every day until it expires. When it reaches the 7-day threshold, you get one 7-day alert. The system records each sent alert, so restarts and repeated scheduler runs never double-notify you.
For email, the window is your Expiring Soon Days setting; for
site-wide Apprise, the thresholds are the Notification Days list
(7,30 by default). A warranty that expires today still counts as
active, so it is included in the expiring-soon alerts, not treated as
already gone.
- Send Warranty Notifications (Admin Actions in Settings) runs the notification job on demand — use it after changing settings to confirm alerts flow, instead of waiting for the scheduled run.
- Check Scheduler Status (Admin Actions) reports whether the notification scheduler is running and healthy.
- Test URL in the site Apprise settings sends a single test notification to one URL without saving it to the configuration.
