@sowoky sowoky released this 19 Aug 17:40

Two bosses, two rows

A pull ends when combat stops. The list was grouping fights whose windows overlapped, and one charmed fire giant warrior that kept swinging while you looted was enough to weld Magus Rokyl and Lord Nagafen into a single four-minute row, twenty-five seconds and a full loot apart.

Pulls now split at the break in combat. A mob still on you across the break belongs to both pulls, and its damage is counted on the side of the break it landed on. A pull that ate two mobs of the same name reads ✓×2.

Resists, per spell and per mob. The summary counted your resists and stopped there. Parser → Taken & healing now has a Resists table: every spell of yours, your pet's or your charm's that landed damage or was resisted, with attempts, resist rate and the mobs that resisted it. Procs included. The damage table gained a Resisted column to match. Requested by a player measuring resists to report them to the devs; it is on eqltools.com/log-parser too.

0.25.0 — a data update that fails no longer costs you twelve hours

Each data file keeps its own clock. One that didn't arrive is retried in fifteen minutes instead of waiting out the full round. Kills and loot keep counting after the game truncates your log, and a stale gear cache no longer overrides the copy bundled with the app.

0.24.0 — is this turn-in a repeat, or the first one?

The Sky board said "ready" whether or not that test was already behind you. Rows now read first time, repeat or done, on the app's Sky tab and on the widget, and the giver's line counts them separately: 2 ready · 1 repeat. The reward in your bags is what proves the turn-in happened — no Sky reward drops off a mob, and 92 of the 95 are NO DROP.

0.23.1 — a window that comes up blank fixes itself

The first launch after an update could come up blank, and closing it and opening it again fixed it. The app now notices a renderer that failed to load or died and loads it again. A window that comes up with its tabs but nothing working prints what went wrong instead of sitting there.

0.23.0 — items that share a name

The game reuses one name across items that are not the same item: ten Old Silver Coins, 85 things called A Tattered Note. Inventory rows now say which one you have (Old Silver Coin · Coin of the Tash - Azia), quest steps tick the coin you actually hold, and a quest's zone list is the places you still have to go.

A data update that fails no longer costs you twelve hours

The app pulls its item, quest, gear, kill and Sky data from eqltools.com twice a day. If one of those fetches didn't land — you were offline, or the site was briefly down — the app marked the whole round done anyway, and every file waited another twelve hours.

Each file now keeps its own clock. The ones that arrived wait the full twelve hours; one that didn't is tried again in fifteen minutes, and the app picks it up without a restart.

Kills and loot after the log file shrinks. When the game truncates or replaces your log, the reader could read past the end of it and lose its place — kills and loot after that point stopped counting until you restarted the app. It now reads only the bytes that are there, and starts the file over when it shrinks.

Gear data. A cached copy that predates the fields the Exalt tab and the zone filter read no longer overrides the copy bundled with the app.

Is this turn-in a repeat, or the first one?

Standing at the giver with a full set in hand, the Sky board said "ready" whether or not that test was already behind you. Now the row says which:

  • first time — you have never had the reward. The first run of a test is what its class unlock counts.
  • repeat — you have done it. A second turn-in merges a duplicate into the copy you hold and raises its upgrade tier by one.
  • done — behind you, and you are short pieces to run it again.

Same words on the app's Sky tab and on the widget, and the giver's line counts them separately: 2 ready · 1 repeat.

The reward in your bags now counts as proof you did the test. A class you unlocked with a token, or picked at character creation, has every achievement requirement marked complete — so that record can't say which of its tests you actually ran. The reward can: no Sky reward drops off a mob, none is a component of another test, and 92 of the 95 are NO DROP. If one is in your inventory dump, that turn-in happened.

"First time" is a claim that something never happened, so it is only made when your achievements dump can back it. Where nothing can settle it the row still reads ready, and the giver carries one line saying why.

A window that comes up blank now fixes itself

Reported after updating: the first launch is a blank window, and closing it and opening it again is fine. Nothing was watching for that. The app now notices a renderer that failed to load or died, and loads it again — up to three times, which is the same thing closing and reopening did, without you doing it.

If the window comes up with its tabs but nothing works, that is a different failure and it was equally silent. It now prints what went wrong on the page instead of sitting there.

The underlying cause isn't confirmed yet. This makes it recover, and makes the next one say why.

0.23.0 — items that share a name

The game reuses one name across items that are not the same item: ten Old Silver Coins, 85 things called A Tattered Note. 193 of the item names quests ask for cover more than one real item, and your inventory dump has always printed the item ID that separates them.

  • An inventory row says which one it is. Old Silver Coin · Coin of the Tash - Azia, and the Item column sorts on it.
  • A quest step ticks the coin you actually have. Holding Azia, Beza, Caza, Dena and Geza used to mark the first five pins in order — it said Ena was done and Geza wasn't, and sent you to Grobb for a coin already in your bank.
  • The zone list is the places you still have to go. Coin of Tash used to list all ten cities whatever you were carrying.

The log only ever prints names, never IDs, so a coin looted since your last /outputfile inventory is counted but can't be placed. The quest says so instead of guessing.

Ten different items called "Old Silver Coin"

The game reuses one name across items that are not the same item. There are ten Old Silver Coins, 85 things called A Tattered Note, 24 A Sealed Letter. 193 of the item names quests ask for cover more than one real item. Your inventory dump has always printed the item ID beside every row; the app now knows what those IDs are.

  • An inventory row says which one it is. Old Silver Coin · Coin of the Tash - Azia. Five rows that used to be identical are five different items, and the Item column sorts on it.
  • A quest step ticks the coin you actually have. Holding Azia, Beza, Caza, Dena and Geza used to mark the first five pins in order — it said Ena was done and Geza wasn't, which is backwards, and it sent you to Grobb for a coin already in your bank.
  • The zone list is the places you still have to go. Coin of Tash used to list all ten cities whatever you were carrying. Now it lists the five you haven't swum yet.

The log only ever prints names, never IDs, so a coin looted since your last /outputfile inventory is counted but can't be placed. The quest says so instead of guessing at it.

Quests → collapse; Sky on the widget

  • Fold a quest or a zone away. A twisty on every quest row and every zone heading — Turn-ins, Tracked both ways, and the widget's tracked panel. Folded, a quest still shows its name, count, level, class, zone and giver, so Turn-ins reads as an index of what you hold something for instead of a scroll. Collapse all / Expand all sits in each view's header. A zone folds by name wherever it appears, and what you folded is still folded next time.
  • Pick the Sky board's grouping on the widget. By giver, by boss, or what to get rid of — the button next to the tabs, same place as Tracked's by zone / by quest. The app's Sky tab follows.

The Quests tab is much faster. The held-count lookup walked all 389 rows of your inventory every time a quest item missed, and a miss is most of them — 82% of the time a redraw took. Three quest views redrew on every log line that moved the ledger, two of them off screen. Typing in a filter redrew 2,004 rows per keystroke. A redraw was 1.7 seconds and the window stopped answering clicks; it is now under 100 ms, and switching tabs is immediate.

Quests → Tracked, Sky

The inventory dump does not show all of your storage. /outputfile inventory writes some of the Equipment bin and drops the rest — 54 of 72 rows on the log this was found with, and not by any property of the item. So a bow bought from another player and put in storage was "still to get" through three dumps.

  • The log is a floor. The app now reads your whole log — not the last 40 MB — and counts every way an item reached you that prints a line: loot you kept, merchant buys, combines, trades from other players (X has offered you 1 Trueshot LongbowYou complete the trade), parcels; minus hand-ins, destroys. Where the dump has none of an item and the log says you got it and never got rid of it, the row ticks and says log says held — not in the dump. An item you have ever sold by hand is never counted this way (a sale prints no quantity).
  • The Sky tab and the overlay's Tracked view say the same thing on the same rows.
  • Every quest item now carries the zone its walkthrough names, even when the item's own wiki page lists no source (the Darak Lightforge bones were "Source not listed on the wiki" with the zone sitting in the step).

Quests → Tracked

The tracker now knows what you have already done.

  • The log counts. A hand-in it saw close ("You complete the trade with Tykar Renlin"), a combine it saw succeed, a merchant buy — each ticks its step, and what that hand-in paid you counts as held even though the NPC hand-out prints no item name. The checklist says how far back the log it read goes.
  • Only what is left. The shopping list is the inputs of the steps you have not done. Hand Tykar his four Drom's Champagne and the champagne is off the list; hold four Edible Goo and its ingredients never appear.
  • Prose walkthroughs are chains too. Quest pages with no checklist — most of them — are read as a player reads them: who you hail, what you give, what you receive, what spawns, what you kill. The Bones of Darak Lightforge is a 17-step chain with the Revenant Ash kill locked behind the casket instead of a flat list telling you to farm a mob that does not exist yet. 321 quests carry a chain now (was 175).
  • Notes are notes. Faction advice and section headers are shown, not counted, and not boxes to tick.
  • Held marks are for what the log genuinely cannot see — an item parked on your pet.

Overlay

The Tracked view now says how old the inventory dump is (it always said "no dump yet").

Inventory → Exalt

A fourth reading of the same /out inventory dump: everything in it that is an exaltation or could yield one.

  • Effect — which focus, click, worn or proc effect the exaltation is (an item that yields more than one lists each, with the +N that pulls it out).
  • Fits — for a loose exaltation, which of the items you are wearing takes it right now, and which would after an upgrade; for one already socketed, whether the wiki's class and slot lines agree with the game; for an item you own, whether it is ready to pull.
  • Fired — how many times the log named an exaltation going off ("feels alive with power"), from the tail the app read at start plus everything since. Whether it does anything, not how often.
  • Sockets — an item's four sockets: what each holds, empty, or the +N that opens it.

The rule it works from: an exaltation keeps its item's class and slot lines, and the item you put it in becomes the overlap of both. Sockets open at +1 focus, +2 click, +3 worn, +4 proc. The full finder by slot is at eqltools.com/exalt.
