ClearFrame v0.10.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 08 Oct 21:55

Download ClearFrame-Setup.exe below for Windows 10/11 x64.

Open the setup file and click Install. Setup downloads and verifies the required video tools automatically. Keep your internet connection on. Then open ClearFrame from the Start menu. No terminal commands or administrator account are needed.

New in v0.10.0: a vertical-clip timeline with still-frame seeking, Set start / Set end controls, and original-video play/pause where Windows can decode the source. FFmpeg still previews remain available when native playback fails.

Automatic local recovery now preserves the saved clip list and unfinished editor fields after a short idle period. Recover restores a selected snapshot after verifying the source. Only the last completed snapshot is recoverable; manual project files are untouched. Closing or replacing a source also warns about uncommitted editor fields.

Manual clip projects still support source relinking and prior-save backups. Keep the original video. Reopened/recovered clips start Ready, never export automatically, and existing output files remain protected. Native Windows playback and full manual interaction remain unverified.

Batches of up to 50 clips, sequential verified exports, cancellation and retry remain available. Crops stay fixed through each clip; resizing cannot add detail. SDR square-pixel sources only.

Windows playback conversion, audio-language selection, scheduled downloads and video cleanup remain available. Close the app before updating. Your download history and saved media are kept.

Advanced users can choose the portable ZIP and run Get-Tools.ps1 in PowerShell 7 instead.

Requires .NET Framework 4.7.2+. This build is unsigned, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning. Download only from this repository. Automated installation checks pass; full manual interaction and live YouTube clip/alternate-language downloads remain unverified.
See CHANGELOG.md and the user guide in the repository for features and known limitations.

ClearFrame v0.9.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 08 Oct 20:31

New in v0.9.0: save your vertical clip projects and reopen them later. Choose More > Create a vertical clip, add your named clips, then Save project. Open project restores names, order, ranges, crop positions and output sizes.

Projects verify the original source and let you locate it if renamed or moved. Keep that source video: projects contain settings, not media. Saves are manual and retain a previous-version backup. Reopened clips start Ready; they never export automatically, and existing output files remain protected. Save clip / Save changes before saving the project to include editor changes.

ClearFrame v0.8.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 08 Oct 17:34

New in v0.8.0: batch up to 50 named vertical clips from one local video, each with its own range, crop position and output size. Choose More > Create a vertical clip, Save clip, then New for another. Use Clips to review, edit, reorder and export pending clips to a folder.

Exports run sequentially and are verified before saving. Cancellation or failure keeps completed clips; retry skips them. Existing files are never overwritten. Clip lists last only for the editor session, with a warning before discarding unexported clips. Crops remain fixed through each clip; resizing cannot add detail.

ClearFrame v0.7.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 05 Oct 04:14

New in v0.7.0: local vertical clips for Shorts/TikTok with start/end times, a draggable fixed 9:16 crop and 1080×1920 or 720×1280 H.264/AAC MP4 exports. Choose More > Create a vertical clip. Crops stay fixed through the clip; resizing cannot add detail. SDR square-pixel sources only.

More > Convert a video for Windows creates a separate compatible MP4 from an existing SDR video. Scheduled queues now wait for modal editors/dialogs to close. Setup help and latest-release links are available inside the app. Close the app before updating. Your history and saved media are kept.

ClearFrame v0.6.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 04 Oct 12:34

Download ClearFrame for Windows

Open ClearFrame-Setup.exe, click Install, and stay connected to the internet while setup gets the video tools ready. Then open ClearFrame from the Start menu. No terminal commands or administrator account are needed.

Playback fix in v0.6.1

Compatible H.264/AAC MP4 is now the default. Earlier releases could save AV1 inside an MP4, which some Windows players cannot decode. Existing users on the old default migrate once; other saved formats and later explicit advanced choices are retained. Existing files and queued jobs are not automatically converted.

Fourteen new playback-default checks pass. A separate compatible copy of the reported video was exported and verified, keeping the original unchanged. The user confirmed that the repaired copy plays correctly in Windows.

Included features

  • A Windows setup wizard with automatic verified tool downloads, Start menu shortcut, optional desktop shortcut, repair through reinstallation, and removal through Windows Settings.
  • A stable download link you can share with friends. Future releases keep the same link.
  • Scheduled downloads: choose a local date/time up to seven days ahead. ClearFrame must remain open; you can change or cancel the schedule. Closing the app or starting manually cancels it.
  • Audio-language selection from the available tracks in each checked video. Saves the choice per download and reports unavailable or incompatible languages without silently substituting another.
  • Clearer installation help and missing-tool repair messages.

Includes the existing clip exports, 15 subtitle-language choices, library sorting, playlist picker, batch links, MP3/M4A audio and local video cleanup. Clips download the full source before local re-encoding; video clips support SDR only.

Requirements and notes

Windows 10 version 1809+ or Windows 11 on an Intel/AMD 64-bit PC, with .NET Framework 4.7.2+. Setup downloads approximately 150 MB; allow 1.5 GB of free space. Close ClearFrame before updating. Updates and removal keep your downloaded media and local history. Reinstallation restores the release's pinned tool versions.

The application and installer are unsigned, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning. Download only from this repository. Do not disable antivirus protection.

Automated installation, reinstallation, app-in-use protection, tool execution and removal checks pass, alongside the scheduling and existing offline suites. Full manual click-through and live YouTube clip/alternate-language downloads remain unverified.

Advanced users may choose the portable ZIP and run Get-Tools.ps1 in PowerShell 7. Third-party tools are fetched from pinned upstream releases; they are not embedded in the setup file. ClearFrame code is MIT licensed; external tools retain their own licenses.

ClearFrame v0.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 04 Oct 07:27

ClearFrame v0.5.0 adds precise clip exports, subtitle-language selection and library sorting.

New features

  • Choose start/end times for a checked individual link. Export clips through all seven existing video/audio profiles, with verified duration, resolution and sound.
  • Choose among 15 subtitle languages, including available regional variants. Clip captions are retimed to the new timeline.
  • Sort the library by added date, title, size or duration while preserving the download queue order.
  • Save per-job clip/language settings and library sort preferences across restarts.
  • Caption save failures now keep the verified video and report a warning.

Clip behavior

Clips download the complete source first, then re-encode the selected range locally. This requires bandwidth and storage for the full source, plus encoding time. Video clips require SDR and even dimensions. Clipping is not lossless. Batch and playlist additions remain full-length.

Verification

36 new option checks passed alongside the existing core, offline WPF, filesystem, subprocess and separate-process recovery tests. Local synthetic-media checks passed for all seven clip profiles, a non-keyframe cut, overwrite protection and source preservation. All 16 existing video-cleanup media checks also passed.

Live YouTube clip downloads and full manual desktop interaction remain unverified. GitHub Actions runs the offline suite; optional media checks were run locally with the pinned tools.

Windows setup

Extract the ZIP, run ./Get-Tools.ps1 in PowerShell 7, then open ClearFrame.exe. External tools are downloaded separately from pinned releases with SHA-256 verification. Requires Windows 10/11 x64 and .NET Framework 4.7.2+. The application is unsigned.

Application code is MIT licensed; third-party tools retain their own licenses. Download media you have permission to save.

ClearFrame v0.4.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 03 Oct 00:09

ClearFrame v0.4.0 adds playlist selection, queue pausing and thumbnail download cards.

  • Choose playlist: preview the first 200 entries and choose individual videos. Reported unavailable entries cannot be selected. Current quality, format, subtitles, speed limit and destination apply to added picks.
  • Pause after current: finish the active attempt, leave remaining jobs queued, and resume when ready. Stop still cancels immediately.
  • Richer cards: thumbnails, duration, estimated source size, speed/ETA details and per-stream progress. Missing images fall back to format badges.

Validation: 24 new feature checks, 68 core checks, 46 existing offline interface checks, 12 filesystem checks, subprocess checks and a two-process application restart check passed locally. The restart check preserves queue status, partial bytes and retry staging identity; it does not perform a live download or open a desktop window.

Automatic approval review rejected the live playlist-and-thumbnail test with “blocked by policy.” Live lookup, thumbnail delivery and full manual desktop/network resume remain unverified. Playlists beyond the first 200 entries and account-required playlists are not supported.

Windows setup

Extract the Windows x64 ZIP, run Get-Tools.ps1 in PowerShell 7, then open ClearFrame.exe. Dependencies are downloaded separately from pinned upstream releases and verified with SHA-256. Existing users can extract into a new folder and run setup; history remains in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ClearFrame.

Requires Windows 10/11 x64 and .NET Framework 4.7.2+. The application is unsigned. A SHA-256 checksum is attached.

Thumbnail cards request images from YouTube's i.ytimg.com host, including up to 200 saved library entries on startup. Images are cached in memory, and failed requests do not prevent downloading.

See the changelog, user guide and interface preview. Preview images use sample entries.

ClearFrame v0.3.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Oct 19:16

ClearFrame v0.3.2 improves queue reliability and download-history recovery.

  • Recover missing or damaged history from its backup, preserving unreadable files before saving replacements.
  • Keep save errors visible until history is saved successfully; hover over the status message for full details.
  • Prevent delayed progress and merge messages from changing stopped, completed or verifying items.
  • Keep the active attempt out of retry-all.
  • Apply consistent duplicate checks to single links and batches, including Best available, fallback quality, audio and subtitles.

Validation: 68 core checks, 46 offline WPF checks, 12 filesystem recovery checks and subprocess checks passed locally. GitHub Windows CI runs these checks too. Full manual desktop restart and live download-resume testing remain outstanding.

The ZIP's SHA-256 checksum is attached.

See the changelog and user guide.

ClearFrame v0.3.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Oct 06:17

ClearFrame v0.3.1 improves local-video cleanup previews and reliability.

  • Switch instantly between the original and edited frame.
  • Changing the region, method or frame time clears stale previews.
  • Embedded cover art is ignored, and previews use the same video stream as exports.
  • Non-square-pixel videos display with correct proportions and selection placement.
  • Invalid preview times are rejected and export-location errors stay in the editor.

Validation: 68 core checks, 20 offline interface checks, subprocess checks and 16 local synthetic-media checks passed. Full manual desktop interaction remains unverified.

Windows setup

Download and extract the Windows x64 ZIP, run Get-Tools.ps1 in PowerShell 7, then open ClearFrame.exe. Dependencies are downloaded separately from pinned upstream releases and verified with SHA-256.

Requires Windows 10/11 x64 and .NET Framework 4.7.2+. This build is unsigned. The ZIP's SHA-256 checksum is attached.

The editor exports a separate MP4 and keeps the original. Logo blending estimates covered pixels and can leave artifacts; moving-logo tracking and HDR editing are not included.

See the changelog and video-cleanup guide.
