WP User Groups organizes WordPress users with familiar taxonomy terms. It adds Groups and Types by default, supports additional user taxonomies, and uses WordPress's existing term and relationship APIs instead of introducing a separate membership system.

- Create hierarchical Groups and Types under Users.
- Assign one or several terms while editing a user.
- Add or remove terms from several users with bulk actions.
- Filter the Users screen by clicking a Group or Type.
- Register custom user taxonomies with different labels, permissions, or selection rules.
- Query memberships with the plugin helpers or WordPress taxonomy APIs.
- Install and configure the plugin.
- Create Groups and Types.
- Assign, filter, and bulk-edit users.
- Developers can continue with the Developer API and Hooks and Filters.
- WordPress 5.2 or newer
- PHP 7.2 or newer
- Tested through WordPress 7.1
The documentation describes WP User Groups 2.6.0.
