'Splosion Man Android — Test Build 3 (first playable)
'Splosion Man — Android Test Build 3 (first PLAYABLE build)
Native arm64-v8a Android port of the ReXGlue recompilation. Source lives in the android-port/ folder of this repo (Gradle/CMake project, game-source overlay, and the 26-patch SDK set).
Verified on a Pixel 8a (2026-10-10): boots through the Twisted Pixel intro, Start Game works, 3D gameplay renders, on-screen touch controls work, physical controllers work.
Install
Install the APK. On first launch the asset wizard opens: import your 'Splosion Man XBLA package (STFS, title ID 5841098F — the ~570 MB game package, not the 5.7 MB theme file) or point it at an extracted game folder containing default.xex. If you already have game files in place from an earlier test build, installing over the top keeps them.
Known issues
- Performance: playable but not yet smooth (~10–20 FPS in gameplay on a Pixel 8a, worse when the phone is hot). Emulation CPU cost; tuning ongoing. Replayed levels hitch less (shader cache persists), and a cool phone does better.
- Touch layout: the right-hand button cluster crowds the screen edge in landscape; layout pass to come.

'Splosion Man Linux v2.0
'Splosion Man — Linux v2.0
The bespoke-launcher release. v2.0 replaces the adapted Dante's Inferno launcher with the new TP 'Splosion Man Launcher — built for this project family, themed, and a much nicer place to live — and ships the FSR-fixed runtime.
What's new in v2.0
- New TP Launcher: 'Splosion Man theme, game detection by title ID, and a built-in STFS importer — pick your XBLA package file on the Game tab and the launcher extracts it for you (no external tools).
- 23 settings, all explained: display, upscaling, audio, input, and advanced options, each with a one-sentence plain-language explanation, saved automatically as you change them, with a Reset to Defaults button.
- AMD FSR actually works now: the runtime is built with FidelityFX enabled (in v1.3 the FSR option silently fell back to bilinear). A/B-verified: 720p → 1440p with FSR is visibly sharper than bilinear.
- Matched build set: game executable and runtime libraries from one build — never mix files across releases.
- Launcher housekeeping: it vacuums leaked guest-memory mappings from crashed runs before launching, so a previous crash can't starve the next run.

You need your own game data
No game data is included. Supply your own legally obtained XBLA package of 'Splosion Man (title ID 5841098F) — the launcher's Import button extracts it, or point the launcher at a folder containing default.xex.
Requirements & honest compatibility notes
- Linux, x86_64, a GPU with Vulkan support.
- This build was compiled on Ubuntu 26.04 and needs glibc 2.43 or newer — in practice, very recent distros. A more portable build (glibc 2.39 floor) is planned; if the AppImage refuses to start on your distro, that's the most likely reason, and an issue report with your distro + glibc version helps prioritize it.
Built with the ReXGlue SDK. Unofficial fan recompilation project; not affiliated with Twisted Pixel or Microsoft.
'Splosion Man — Windows Test Build (pre-release)
'Splosion Man — Windows Test Build (pre-release)
By popular demand (one very persistent Redditor): a native Windows build of the 'Splosion Man recomp, with the TP 'Splosion Man Launcher.
Status
This is a test build. The binaries are built by GitHub Actions CI from this repo. End-to-end verification so far, via Proton on Linux: the launcher detects the game set, imports game data, and the game boots and plays — first levels completed with sound, gamepad + vibration, and AMD FSR upscaling all working. Native Windows reports are the missing piece — if you try it, please file an issue with how it went (good or bad), including your GPU and Windows version.

MD5: dd249cce25b39e5abafabcd68cac38a0
The ZIP contains one folder with everything in it: TPSplosionmanLauncher.exe, the game program set (splosionman.exe, rexruntime.dll, rexgpu-xenos.dll, amd_fidelityfx_dx12.dll), and the Qt runtime.
You need your own game data
No game data is included. You must supply your own legally obtained XBLA package of 'Splosion Man (title ID 5841098F). In the launcher: Game tab → Import XBLA Package, pick the package file, and the launcher extracts it for you. Then press Play.
Requirements
- Windows 10/11, 64-bit
- A GPU with Vulkan support
Notes
- Settings (resolution, FSR upscaling — on by default, VSync, audio, input) live on the launcher's Settings tab, each with a plain-language explanation, and are saved per user.
- The four game program files must stay together in the folder; the launcher verifies them at startup.
- Troubleshooting details are in
README-WINDOWS.txtinside the ZIP.
Built with the ReXGlue SDK. Unofficial fan recompilation project; not affiliated with Twisted Pixel or Microsoft.
