Getting Started

This guide will help you get Asset Intelligence up and running quickly.

Prerequisites

Home Assistant installed and running
Areas configured in Home Assistant
Sensors available (temperature, humidity, etc.)
Labels configured (optional but recommended)

Step 1: Verify Areas

Ensure your rooms already exist in Home Assistant:

Settings → Areas

Asset Intelligence uses these as the source of truth.

Step 2: Add Your First Asset

Navigate to Asset Intelligence → Add Asset

Provide:

Name
Area (room)
Labels (optional)

Step 3: Configure a Room Environment

Select a room and assign sensors:

Temperature sensor
Humidity sensor
(Optional) other environmental sensors

Then define acceptable ranges.

Step 4: Save and Monitor

Once configured:

Assets are linked to rooms
Rooms evaluate conditions
System begins monitoring for out-of-range conditions

What Happens Behind the Scenes

A Home Assistant device is created for each asset
Area and label assignments are written directly to HA
No duplicate data is stored

You're now ready to build awareness into your home.
