Getting Started

This guide will help you get Asset Intelligence up and running quickly.

Prerequisites

  • Home Assistant installed and running
  • Areas configured in Home Assistant
  • Sensors available (temperature, humidity, etc.)
  • Labels configured (optional but recommended)

Step 1: Verify Areas

Ensure your rooms already exist in Home Assistant:

Settings → Areas

Asset Intelligence uses these as the source of truth.

Step 2: Add Your First Asset

Navigate to Asset Intelligence → Add Asset

Provide:

  • Name
  • Area (room)
  • Labels (optional)

Step 3: Configure a Room Environment

Select a room and assign sensors:

  • Temperature sensor
  • Humidity sensor
  • (Optional) other environmental sensors

Then define acceptable ranges.

Step 4: Save and Monitor

Once configured:

  • Assets are linked to rooms
  • Rooms evaluate conditions
  • System begins monitoring for out-of-range conditions

What Happens Behind the Scenes

  • A Home Assistant device is created for each asset
  • Area and label assignments are written directly to HA
  • No duplicate data is stored

You're now ready to build awareness into your home.
