Random Remap (for Vehicles)

Caner Karaca edited this page Oct 1, 2026 · 1 revision

📝 Overview

The Random Remap feature allows your vehicle model to spawn with a random texture variation each time it is loaded in the game world! 🚗🎨

This is ideal for adding visual variety across traffic — such as taxis with different liveries, delivery vans with various sponsor logos, or cars with alternative interior trims.

📌 How It Works

  1. Base Texture: The default texture assigned to your vehicle's material in the .dff model (e.g. body).
  2. Variation Textures: Additional textures in the .txd file ending with the _remap suffix:
    • body_remap1
    • body_remap2
    • body_remap3 ... up to unlimited variations!

When the vehicle spawns, ModelExtras automatically assigns one of the available texture variants at random.

💡 Paintjobs vs Random Remap

  • Vanilla GTA SA Paintjobs: Use standard textures like remapelegybody128 or remap_fica. These are vehicle paintjobs controlled by tuning shops and car colors.
  • ModelExtras Random Remap: Uses textures ending with _remap (e.g. body_remap1). These are randomized automatically whenever the car spawns.

🎮 Example

You can have an unlimited number of remap variants (_remap1, _remap2, _remap3, etc.) in the vehicle's .txd file.
