Casio MX 10
The Casio MX-10 is an MSX1 computer that uses a TMS9118 VDP and is compatible with the PICO9918. For general MSX information, see the MSX page.
The Casio MX-10 is an entry-level MSX1 computer released by Casio in 1984. It features a compact design with a Z80 CPU and TMS9118 VDP. It was one of the most affordable MSX computers, making it a popular choice for budget-conscious users.
The Casio MX-10 has the TMS9118 soldered directly to the board rather than socketed. A socket must be soldered in place before installing the PICO9918.
- Power off and open the Casio MX-10
- Desolder the TMS9118 VDP from the board
- Solder a 40-pin DIP socket in its place
- Insert the PICO9918 in the correct orientation (pin 1 aligned)
- Connect the VGA dongle, Digital AV Dongle, or SCART cable
- Close the computer and power on
