Custom Stripped Wood

简体中文 | English

/ffd_strippedwood generates JSON definitions for stripped logs and stripped wood from eligible wood families provided by other mods.

It scans registered wood blocks. It does not cut down trees, change logs already placed in your world, or generate trees.

Usage

Requires command permission level 2.

Command Action
/ffd_strippedwood scan Preview wood families identified by standard log types and naming patterns
/ffd_strippedwood scan all Expand the preview to other rotated-pillar blocks that pass the strict wood checks
/ffd_strippedwood generate Rescan the default scope and generate family definitions and a report
/ffd_strippedwood generate all Rescan the expanded scope and generate definitions and a report

Both scan commands only display results; they do not write configuration files.

Recommended workflow

  1. Back up your configuration and run /ffd_strippedwood scan.
  2. Review the listed families and their log and wood source counts.
  3. Run /ffd_strippedwood generate.
  4. If ordinary scanning misses wood with unusual names, review scan all before using generate all.
  5. Open the generated JSON and check the family grouping, source blocks, and variants.
  6. Fully restart the game or server, then check the new items, textures, and axe-stripping interaction.

Generated JSON goes directly into the active configuration directory. To keep an unsuitable file from loading on the next startup, prefix its filename with an underscore while you review it.

Does all treat ordinary blocks as wood?

A name containing log or wood is not enough. Both modes require:

  • A rotated-pillar block type with a supported log-axis property.
  • Wood material in every valid block state.
  • A corresponding block item.
  • A block that does not belong to Farmer's Future Delight itself.
  • A registry name that is not identified as already stripped wood.

Default mode additionally checks for a standard log type or a name ending in _log, _wood, _stem, or _hyphae. all relaxes only this family-detection step. It does not relax the material, axis, or other basic checks.

These checks cannot infer every other mod's design intent. For example, a decorative wooden pillar that meets the technical requirements may enter the expanded scan. Review all results carefully.

Vanilla wood is handled by built-in content and is not generated again by this command.

Where are the files saved?

Path Contents
config/farmers_future_delight/custom_stripped_woods/ Generated active wood-family JSON definitions
config/farmers_future_delight/custom_stripped_woods/_example.json An automatically created format example; it is not loaded
config/farmers_future_delight/stripped_wood_generation/ JSON reports listing candidates, generated files, and skipped files

Reports are named like scan-<timestamp>.json and are written by generate. The scan command itself does not write a report.

Existing filenames and already loaded definitions for the same material are skipped rather than overwritten.

Families and appearance

The generator groups sources by "mod ID + wood-family name," collecting matching log and wood sources into one JSON file. Wood variants use their corresponding metadata selectors; different placement axes are not treated as separate wood families.

Generated definitions use color: "auto". Ordinary stripped logs use a shared grayscale side texture with tinting and reuse the source wood's end textures. The generator does not draw a separate texture set for every family. See _example.json if you want to customize the result.

Why did the generated content not appear?

  • The game or server was not fully restarted; reopening the world alone is not enough.
  • The filename starts with an underscore, or the JSON is invalid.
  • A source block is missing, fails the wood checks, or needs a different family grouping.
  • The corresponding stripped-wood content is disabled in the configuration.

In multiplayer, use the same valid custom definitions on the server and its clients.
