This guide explains how to install ReinChat on a Paper Minecraft server.
Before installing ReinChat, make sure you have:
- A compatible Paper server.
- The ReinChat plugin JAR.
- The ReinCore plugin JAR, which is required by ReinChat.
PlaceholderAPI is optional and only needed if you want to use its supported integration.
Download ReinChat and ReinCore from their official distribution pages.
Make sure both plugins are compatible with each other.
- Stop your Minecraft server.
- Open your server's
plugins/directory. - Place both the ReinCore and ReinChat JAR files in that directory.
- Start your server.
Both plugins must be installed separately. Do not place the JAR files inside separate subdirectories.
Check your server console during startup for errors related to ReinChat or ReinCore.
Once ReinChat has initialized successfully, check the plugin's data directory for its configuration files:
plugins/ReinChat/
These files can be edited to customize chat formatting, channels, messages, filters, broadcasts, and other features.
PlaceholderAPI is an optional integration.
If you want to use PlaceholderAPI functionality supported by ReinChat:
- Install PlaceholderAPI on your server.
- Restart the server if necessary.
- Configure the relevant placeholders in the applicable ReinChat configuration files.
Refer to the PlaceholderAPI guide for more information.
When updating ReinChat or ReinCore:
- Stop your server.
- Back up your configuration files and relevant plugin data.
- Replace the old JAR files with the new versions.

- Check the server console for startup errors.
- Confirm that the installed server and plugin versions are compatible.
