5.2 Backend Manager Component

BDC_DialogBackend_ManagerComponent

The Dialog Manager Component belongs to the PlayerState or PlayerController.

The Dialog Subsystem uses it, to inform the PS/PC about a started or finished dialog, to switch Input Modes, Input Bindings or other Events you may want to happen whenever a Dialog starts or ends.

Dispatchers

Name Called by Info
OnDialogStarted Subsystem This Dispatcher gets called whenever a Front or Back Dialog is started by the Subsystem.
The default usecase is to remove Input Mappings for Movement, Combat and Interaction during Dialogs.
OnDialogFinished Subsystem This Dispatcher gets called whenever a Front or Back Dialog ends via the Subsystem.
The default usecase is to re-add Input Mappings for Movement, Combat and Interaction after Dialogs.
