Two of the most innovative driving assists in vWheel Hub Pro are Synthetic Trail Braking (automated progressive brake release on corner turn-in) and Audio Slip Feedback (auditory force feedback for mouse drivers).


🛑 Synthetic Trail Braking

What is Trail Braking?

In real-world motorsport, Trail Braking is an essential cornering technique where a driver applies maximum straight-line braking, but as they steer into the apex, they progressively bleed off brake pressure. This keeps weight transferred onto the front tires to generate steering grip and rotate the car without exceeding the friction circle of the contact patch.

Trail Braking Parameters:

Parameter Default Function & Mechanics
Enable Trail Braking false Toggles synthetic trail braking. (Note: Mutually exclusive with Telemetry ABS Helper).
TB Intensity 1.00 Controls how aggressively allowable brake pressure drops as steering lock angle increases.
TB Min Limit 0.20 (20%) The minimum brake pressure floor allowed at full steering lock (e.g. 0.20 = allows at least 20% trail pressure at maximum steering lock).
TB Decay Seconds 0.080 s Time in seconds for excess brake pressure to bleed off smoothly as you turn into the corner.

Note

Turbo Brake Override: If you need to perform an emergency stop while turning, pressing both primary and secondary brake keys simultaneously activates Turbo Brake, which overrides all trail braking clamps to deliver immediate 100% brake force.


🔊 Audio Slip Feedback (Auditory Force Feedback)

When racing on a high-end Direct Drive wheel, drivers feel tire scrub and slides through motor torque resistance and steering shaft vibrations. When driving on a mouse, there is no physical Force Feedback (FFB) motor.

Audio Slip Feedback solves this sensory gap by providing instant, non-intrusive auditory cues whenever your tires exceed their optimal grip threshold:

Slip Audio Parameters:

Cue Type Default Frequency Default Duration Sensory Meaning & Driver Action
Understeer Tone 650 Hz (High) 80 ms Front tires are scrubbing and losing lateral bite. Action: Unwind steering angle slightly to restore front grip.
Oversteer Tone 280 Hz (Low) 100 ms Rear tires have broken traction and the rear end is stepping out. Action: Apply quick countersteer or ease throttle.
TC Audio Tone 500 Hz (Mid) 60 ms Driven wheels are spinning under power. Action: Modulate throttle or rely on Smart TC.
Slip Audio Min Speed 15.0 km/h Speed threshold below which sound cues are muted (prevents beeping in pit lanes or standing starts).
