General

What Minecraft version and loader does Farbound use? Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.

Is the pack finished? Farbound is in active development. Expect updates and changes on the way to a stable release.

Where do I report bugs or give feedback? On the issue tracker. For performance issues, please include specs, allocated RAM, and whether Distant Horizons or shaders were active.

Gameplay

Where is my elytra? Gone, and on purpose. Farbound is about vehicles you build yourself; strapping on wings would skip the entire journey. Build an airship instead, it is roomier anyway.

Why don't I get achievements/advancements? Vanilla advancements are disabled. The quest book replaces them with quests that fit the pack, including reworked versions of the classic milestones.

I died. Where is my stuff? You keep part of your inventory on death. The rest drops where you fell, so the trip back is still worth it.

Someone looted the dungeon before me! They did not. Structure loot is instanced per player (Lootr): everyone opens their own version of each chest.

Do quests work in multiplayer? Yes. Quest progress is shared within your team via FTB Teams.

Does the pack have voice chat? Yes, Simple Voice Chat is included. On servers with the matching server mod you get proximity voice out of the box, which pairs wonderfully with shouting orders across an airship deck.

What are these plushies? Collectible rewards. Meeting, taming, or defeating the world's creatures earns you their plushie counterparts. Yes, you can collect them all. Yes, your airship deserves a plushie shelf.

Technical

The first launch takes forever. Is something broken? No. The first launch compiles assets and sets up mods, which takes a while. Later launches are much faster.

My airship looks broken with shaders. Known issue: Create: Aeronautics has rendering problems with Iris shaders on moving contraptions. Try disabling shaders. See Performance and Settings.

How do I enable Distant Horizons? Via the pack's mod options. Allocate at least 12 GB of RAM first. See Performance and Settings.

Can I add or remove mods? For your own private use, sure. Just know that added mods are outside what we test, so please reproduce bugs on an unmodified pack before reporting them.

Can I use the pack on my server? Yes, server use is explicitly allowed. See License and Credits for what is and is not permitted.
