Codex Game Studios v0.5.0
Codex Game Studios v0.5.0
v0.5.0 evaluates Codex runtime hook support and turns the project policy into a CI-backed check.
Highlights
- Added
docs/hooks/runtime-hook-evaluation.mdwith the current hook decision, rationale, legacy hook mapping, and future adoption gate. - Confirmed that Codex Game Studios does not bundle plugin runtime hooks in this release.
- Added
tools/validate_hook_policy.pyto enforce nohooksfield in the plugin manifest and no plugin-roothooks/directory. - Wired hook policy validation into GitHub Actions.
- Bumped regenerated plugin metadata to
0.5.0.
Decision
Codex plugin hooks exist, but plugin-bundled hooks are off by default unless users enable [features].plugin_hooks = true. For this project template, safety checks should behave the same in a fresh clone and in CI. Therefore v0.5 keeps safety behavior explicit through scripts and skill instructions.
Validation
Run these from the repository root:
python tools\migrate_from_claude.py
python tools\prepare_v01.py
python tools\validate_cgs.py
python tools\validate_skills.py

python tools\scan_legacy_tokens.py
python -m json.tool plugins\codex-game-studios\.codex-plugin\plugin.json
python -m json.tool .agents\plugins\marketplace.jsonRoadmap Impact
This release closes #5 Track Codex hook schema and evaluate runtime hook support with a documented decision: do not wire runtime hooks yet; keep explicit validators as the stable safety layer.
Codex Game Studios v0.4.0
Codex Game Studios v0.4.0
v0.4.0 focuses on local plugin installation UX. Codex builds may expose repo-local plugin installation differently, so this release documents both the preferred marketplace path and the reliable path-based fallback.
Highlights
- Added
docs/install/local-plugin.mdwith the expected marketplace, plugin manifest, and skill paths. - Documented verification prompts for
$cgs-help,$cgs-project-stage-detect, and starter workflows. - Documented fallback prompts that call
SKILL.mdfiles by path when local plugin installation is unavailable. - Added troubleshooting checks for repo-root selection, JSON parsing, manifest paths, stale discovery, and runtime hook expectations.
- Added
tools/validate_plugin_install_docs.pyand wired it into CI.
Validation
Run these from the repository root:
python tools\migrate_from_claude.py
python tools\prepare_v01.py
python tools\validate_cgs.py
python tools\validate_skills.py
python tools\validate_smoke_fixture.py

python -m json.tool plugins\codex-game-studios\.codex-plugin\plugin.json
python -m json.tool .agents\plugins\marketplace.jsonRoadmap Impact
This release closes the initial documentation scope for #3 Document local plugin install UX and fallback paths.
The hook schema tracking issue remains open until Codex plugin runtime hook behavior is stable enough to wire safely.
Codex Game Studios v0.3.0
Codex Game Studios v0.3.0

docs/workflows/high-frequency-workflows.mdto document the expected behavior of$cgs-code-review,$cgs-qa-plan, and$cgs-smoke-check. - Tightened
$cgs-code-reviewwith severity rules and a findings-first output contract. - Tightened
$cgs-qa-planwith evidence rules and explicit test-matrix expectations. - Tightened
$cgs-smoke-checkwith a narrower smoke scope and clearer failure reporting. - Added
tools/validate_transcripts.pyand wired it into CI.
Validation
Run these from the repository root:
python tools\migrate_from_claude.py
