Server and Channel Groups
Two pages that manage the groups themselves — creating, deleting, membership, and moving them between servers. The permissions inside a group are edited on the Permissions page; this is everything else.
- Members — pick a group to see who's in it, and use the searchable client picker to Add Member; each member has a remove button. The picker searches your server's client database, so it finds offline clients too, not just people currently online. To change one group for many people at once, the Client Database's group mode does that in a table.
- Create and delete groups. Only real, assignable groups are shown for actions — TeamSpeak's built-in template groups (the ones new servers are seeded from) can't be assigned to clients and are filtered out, which is why one you expect to see may be missing; see Tips and Pitfalls.
- Icons — each group shows its actual icon, not a generic glyph.
Everything above, plus a second view:
- By Client — instead of "who is in this group", this asks "where does this client hold a non-default channel group". Pick a client and you see every channel where they have one, and can change it per channel or for several channels at once — the quick way to audit or adjust one person's standing across the whole tree.
Both pages let you tick several groups with checkboxes and delete them in one step, rather than one at a time.
Select groups and export them to a JSON file holding each group's name and full permission set. Import reads that file back onto the current server — the detail of merging into the current selection versus replacing it, and why exports deliberately contain permissions but not membership, is covered in Permissions → Exporting and importing groups. Import always creates new groups; it never overwrites an existing one, even on a name collision.
