Compatibility
Energy Drawers use standard Forge Energy (FE). Anything that produces, stores, moves or uses FE connects to them: Mekanism, Powah, Thermal, Immersive Engineering, Flux Networks, and so on.
If a mod does not connect, please open a compatibility issue.
The standard Forge Energy interface uses a 32-bit number, so any block can report at most 2,147,483,647 FE through it. That is a limit of the interface every energy mod shares, not of the drawer.
An Energy Drawer counts in 64 bits. When it holds more than the limit, cables and machines see 2,147,483,647 FE, and can still fill and drain it normally. The real total is shown:
- on the front of the drawer,
- in the drawer's screen and item tooltip,
- in Jade and The One Probe.
Mekanism's machines and cables work with Energy Drawers through FE (Mekanism converts its Joules at the boundary).
With Mekanism installed, the Chemical Drawers appear. They speak Mekanism's own chemical interface, so pressurized tubes, machines and chemical tank items all work with them, and chemical amounts are not limited to 2.1 billion.
With Ars Nouveau installed, the Source Drawer appears. Relays, sourcelinks, the Enchanting Apparatus and everything else that uses Source nearby find it the way they find a Source Jar.
Botania has no release for Minecraft 1.21.1 yet. A Mana drawer is planned for when it does.
Jade and The One Probe both show the real charge and capacity of an Energy Drawer in their own energy bar, and the total of a whole network on a Storage Controller. Neither is required. They do not show chemical or Source amounts yet; the drawer's front and screen do.
