FAQ

Do I need Mekanism, Ars Nouveau or another mod? No. The Energy Drawer works with any mod that produces or uses Forge Energy. Mekanism adds the Chemical Drawers and Ars Nouveau adds the Source Drawer, but both are optional: without them those drawers simply do not exist.

I added Mekanism (or Ars Nouveau) and the new drawers appeared. Can I remove it again? Yes, but any Chemical or Source drawer placed in your world is removed along with the mod, like any block from a removed mod.

My cable says the drawer holds 2,147,483,647 FE, but the front says more. Both are right. That is the most the standard energy interface can report. See Compatibility.

My drawer does not give energy to my machine. Energy Drawers push into their neighbours on their own. Check that PUSH_TO_NEIGHBOURS is true in the Configuration, and that the machine accepts FE on that side.

My pressurized tube does not empty a Chemical Drawer. Tubes only take from a block on a side set to pull. Set that side with Mekanism's Configurator.

The Storage Controller's screen does not show energy, chemicals or Source. Functional Storage builds that screen for items and fluids only. Tubes, cables and relays on the controller still reach the whole wall, and Jade or The One Probe show the energy total. See Storage Controller.

Can I lock an Energy Drawer? Locking makes a drawer remember what it holds when it is empty. Energy and Source have only one kind, so there is nothing to remember. Chemical Drawers do lock, per tank.

Can I turn a drawer off in my modpack? Yes: every drawer has a switch in the Configuration. Off removes its recipe and its creative-tab entry; drawers already placed keep working.

Can I put it in my modpack? Yes, as long as you ship the published jar unmodified.

Fabric? Other Minecraft versions? No Fabric: Functional Storage is NeoForge on 1.21.1 and Forge on 1.20.1, and so is this mod. Both versions have the same drawers; the one difference is that on 1.20.1 Ars Nouveau relays do not connect to the Source Drawer.

What about Botania mana? Planned, not yet built. Suggest anything else in the issues.
