Getting Access to Support

After joining the Discord:

  1. Go to #role-select.
  2. Select the Addon User role.
  3. The Support area will then become available.

If you are helping test development builds, select the Beta Tester role to access the testing areas as well.

Bug Reports

Use #bug-reports when Simple Mouse Cursor is not behaving as expected.

When reporting a problem, please include as much useful information as possible:

  • Simple Mouse Cursor version
  • World of Warcraft version
  • Which settings you were using
  • What you were doing when the problem occurred
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • Any Lua error that appeared
  • Steps that reproduce the issue

Screenshots or short videos are especially useful for visual problems involving rings, effects, trails, colours, or cursor positioning.

A clear list of the settings involved can often make an issue much easier to reproduce.

Feature Requests

Use #feature-requests for ideas, improvements, or new functionality.

It is helpful to explain:

  • what you are trying to achieve;
  • what problem the change would solve;
  • which part of Simple Mouse Cursor it relates to.

For example, a request might relate to:

  • ring indicators;
  • reticle styles;
  • colours;
  • visual effects;
  • modifier-key actions;
  • visibility controls;
  • settings.

You do not need to provide a technical solution.

Beta Testing

Users with the Beta Tester role can access beta builds and testing areas.

When reporting an issue found in a beta build, please include the beta version number and make it clear that you are testing a development build.

Beta versions may contain unfinished changes intended for testing before a normal release.

If something in this Wiki is unclear, incorrect, or missing, please let us know.

Include:

  • the Wiki page;
  • the section involved;
  • what you believe needs changing or explaining more clearly.

Documentation feedback is welcome alongside addon bug reports and feature requests.

Before Reporting a Problem

It may be worth checking FAQ & Troubleshooting first.

Common issues with visibility, ring assignments, class colours, trails, modifier keys, layering, and resetting settings are covered there.
