Green Screen

Before starting this tutorial you need to have ReShade already installed in your copy of Monster Hunter World. The tutorial will not deal with this part of the process.

Installing the necessary files

  • First download Asterisk's Green Screen Setup (https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/635). Select the version that suit your needs.

  • Download Valeour Green Screen ReShade Preset (https://github.com/Valeour/green-screen-depth).

  • Debug Map: It's a wide empty expanse, useful if you only want your character and or cat to be visible without having to deal with props and ground getting in the way.

  • Invisible Weapon: What it says in the tin.

  • Invisible Body: When you want to remove your hunter from sight. Warning because of how necks are handled it makes all male heads be invisible (AC:Unity mode).

Mod Installation

Installing mods is a simple process. Simply drag the nativePC folder to the same folder the game's exe is in.

Installing the ReShade preset is also a smooth process. Simply drag the fx files to your shaders folder.

Setup Helpers

The invisible armour is the Leather Armour Alpha.

The invisible weapon is the Hunter's Knife I (Sword and Shield).

The quest for the debug map is the 2 star optional "The Great Glutton".

Activating the Shader

First make sure to disable HUD since otherwise depth calculations might fail.

Open Reshade options and on your settings look for GreenScreenDepth. Toggle it and then look for it's settings on the bottom pane. If you can't find the bottom pane ensure you are in configuration mode in settings.

Use this value to fine tune the distance behind which the green screen will be set. If the green doesn't appear in settings switch to performance and then back to configuration.
