Overview

The csps-elphel-validate software is used to validate logs-files coming from Elphel camera devices. The validation is based on logs-files size, assuming that logs-files under a given amount of bytes should contain invalid data.

This assumption as the following origin : invalid data are carried by records with anomalous timestamps that trigger the splitting condition inducing very small segments that contains the hardware failure. The condition on size allows to get rid of them after splitting process.

Usage

The csps-elphel-audit software expects the following arguments and parameters. Starting with the stream arguments and parameters :

--source -s

Directory that contains the logs-files to validate.

--destination -d

Directory that recieves the validated logs-files.

The minimum tolerated size can be set using the following arguments and parameters :

--minimum-size -m

Minimum size, in bytes, above which logs-file are validated.

Demonstration

The following terminal output of the software is obtained considering logs-files coming from an eyesis4pi camera device :

...
Validating : log-container.log-00019
    Exported in log-container.log-00001
Validating : log-container.log-00004
    Not exported
Validating : log-container.log-00002
    Exported in log-container.log-00002
Validating : log-container.log-00016
    Exported in log-container.log-00003
...

The second considered logs-file is the only one that was rejected by the validation process. All the other logs-files on this example passed the validation condition.

Compilation

The software binary can be build using its specific makefile by simply typing in its base directory :

$ make clean && make build [OPENMP=false]

The binary is placed in the local bin directory and is not copied in the csps-suite main bin directory. To generate the documentation, use the command :

$ make clean-documentation && make documentation

To install or uninstall the binaries on the local computer, use the commands :

# make install
# make uninstall
