ICRA β€” IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation

ICRA is the flagship IEEE robotics conference β€” the largest annual venue for robotics and automation, and (with IROS) the systems-and-hardware counterpart to the ML venues. VLA/manipulation coverage here skews toward real-robot deployment: sensor-grounded policies (force/tactile/audio), efficiency and streaming for onboard inference, RL fine-tuning of continuous-action policies, and practicality benchmarks beyond LIBERO.

Surveys

  • ICRA 2026 β€” VLA & Manipulation Survey (June 2026) β€” Vienna, June 1–5. 5,088 submissions (record); ~2,820 archival papers + 131 late-breaking. Manipulation/learning is the largest theme (RL 254 Β· Imitation Learning 197 Β· Grasping & Manipulation 146 Β· LfD 133 Β· Dexterous 75); β‰₯ 46 papers carry "VLA" in the title. 11 themed clusters with the deployment/sensor emphasis that distinguishes ICRA from the ML-venue VLA wave. See the year index: ICRA 2026.
