1. Welcome Jenna! She is replacing Arran who replaced Melissa.

2. Release update - Danny has started to go through all of the motions. He is taking meticulous notes so that other people in the future can do this process. It is mostly slicing new releases in github in a certain order (based on dependencies) - requires composer updates as well. Islandora and and islandora_defaults are still left to do. Danny would like to get a few cleanup PRs merged before slicing these. Notes are here: https://github.com/Islandora/documentation/blob/how-to-release/docs/contributing/releasing-islandora.md

3. Next Summer of Islandora session (July 27) - who's attending? Danny will likely not be there so would like some committers to be there. Some presenters include Born Digital and Rosie.

4. Support for remote media (e.g. https://github.com/Islandora/documentation/issues/1776)

   • came up in the context of islandora workbench
   • should be as simple as adding the media of field to the media type
   • question of whether or not we need the media use field on it
   • don suggests you wouldn't technically need a media, that you could store it as a field on the node. several folks seemed to think that the keeping the media route seems to jive best with the rest of the system.
   • some question around what would happen in fedora - the metadata would still get pushed there. but what would happen for the media record in fedora? need to double check this. we think you'd get an RDF resource instead of a non-RDF resource.
   • mention of a "preview" file living in the file field
   • different from islandora 7, remote videos must come from oembed compliant sources.
   • depends on the use case whether or not to go with the media method vs the field method. as a community, the consensus is that the default functionality should be based on a media. but there is no reason that a particular insitution could adopt the file method for their purposes.
   • would we allow remote content for all media types?
   • one use case would be storing the original file in the fedora but having the service file be a remote video
   • could potentially pull back metadata from the oembed provider but there are a bunch of providers so it'd be time-consuming to automate. don suggests providing documentation on this at the least.
   • module exists for adding custom oembed providers https://www.drupal.org/project/oembed_providers
   • needs continued discussion in the ticket

5. Tokens for agents (multi-valued fields with ",")

   • related to https://www.drupal.org/project/metatag/issues/3067803 and https://github.com/Islandora/controlled_access_terms/pull/66
   • need the metatag patch in order to stop flip-flopping the names on the comma. danny recommends putting a PR in for the metatag patch. and then the token should read the config value for the delimiter and build the token based on that delimiter and stop flip-flopping the name.
   • danny will test this and try to merge as-is and then we can put in subsequent PRs to fix the flip-flopping of the name
