AC8 Mod Control 1.4.0 — HUD Colors & Wingman Controls

Choose a tag to compare

@JustBlan1984 JustBlan1984 released this 04 Oct 05:10
1831928

New in 1.4.0

  • Individual HUD colors: a 14-entry list, with 12 entries per page and separate resets.
  • Smooth color wheel: click and drag, adjust brightness, or enter precise 0–255 R/G/B values and press Set.
  • Matching overlay design: full-height HUD Color panel, green border, transparent background, and vertically stacked RGB fields beside the wheel.
  • Center HUD size: scale center instruments around their center without moving them across the screen.
  • Wingman boxes: resize or completely hide W boxes while keeping names and JOKER callsigns visible.
  • Timer and wingman colors: clock digits, onscreen boxes/names/callsigns, offscreen arrows and their names.
  • Smoother updates: unified frame scheduling replaces competing update paths associated with earlier overlay failures and trailing names.

HUD color entries

All HUD; Score / Target; Timer; Center HUD; Radar Grid; Weapon Counts; Aircraft Icon; Portrait Border; D-pad; Wingman Arrows; Edge Names; Wingman Boxes; Callsigns; Wingman Names.

All HUD changes the shared color and clears individual overrides. Use All HUD Color removes only the selected group's override so it follows the shared color again. The group's ↺ restores its original game color. The reset beside HUD COLOR restores all original HUD colors.

Install or update

  1. Install experimental UE4SS separately beside Game/Binaries/Win64/AceCombat8.exe. Stable UE4SS has not been validated for this configuration.
  2. Download AC8-Mod-Control-1.4.0.zip, extract it, and run AC8 Mod Control.exe. No separate Python or .NET installation is needed.
  3. Close the game before updating. Select your game folder and every mod option you want enabled, then click Apply Selected Mods. Unchecked options are disabled when applying. Backups are automatic.
  4. For the first application, use No EAC launch, load your campaign, and let the game save. A fresh campaign must have a save before applying mods.
  5. After that, launch normally from your usual shortcut. Press F9 during flight to open the overlay, then HUD COLOR. The launcher does not need to remain open.

Position, size, and color settings save automatically. Cockpit/HUD/chase FOV, corner-panel layout controls, ultrawide preset, and separate circular-arrow resets remain available.

Current coverage

Enemy aircraft boxes, the selected enemy aircraft name, active-target arrows, missile-lock indicators, and other remaining markers are not yet individual color controls. Score / Target affects the score panel, not floating enemy labels. Radar Grid does not recolor every radar contact. Damage colors and some separate stores/instrument symbols retain their game behavior.

Wingman testing covered JOKER 2/3/4 — Professor, Tasha, and Noise. The author confirmed the current overlay and offscreen names working smoothly. Local launcher and HUD regression checks passed; extended sessions and every mission/localization remain unverified.

New in 1.3.0

  • Press F9 during flight for FOV and HUD controls.
  • Move and resize score/time, radar, weapons and radio portraits.
  • Radar backgrounds, D-pad indicator and quick commands follow the radar.
  • Radio portraits and their backgrounds move together.

  • Cleaner, evenly spaced controls; positions and sizes save automatically. Center flight instruments stay unchanged.

How to use

  1. Install the latest experimental UE4SS build beside Game/Binaries/Win64/AceCombat8.exe. The stable UE4SS release is not supported.
  2. Download AC8-Mod-Control-1.3.0.zip, extract it and open AC8 Mod Control.exe. No separate .NET or Python installation is needed.
  3. Close the game, select your game folder and desired mods, then click Apply Selected Mods.
  4. Use No EAC launch for the first application, load your campaign and let it save.

After that, launch normally from your usual shortcut. The mod launcher and No EAC Launch do not need to be used every game launch. Reopen the launcher when applying an update or changing mods.

For a fresh game, create a campaign save before applying mods. Save backups are automatic.

Use the HUD arrows to move panels and the sliders to resize them. Ultrawide Preset moves the corner panels outward; Reset All HUD restores all four panels.

F-14A and ADFX-02 grants remain excluded. Offline / single-player.

@JustBlan1984 JustBlan1984 released this 02 Oct 16:55

CriminalGamer84's AC8 Mod Control

Experimental 5 changes

Updated embedded guide and version labels; synchronized current C#/Lua source and build instructions. Gameplay scripts are unchanged from Experimental 4.

Download the current build and matching source · Nexus Mods

Download AC8-Mod-Control-1.2.0-experimental.5.zip, extract it, and run AC8 Mod Control.exe. This single Windows EXE includes its .NET runtime and mod scripts. No separate Python or .NET installation is needed. UE4SS must be installed separately.

Required UE4SS version

Use UE4SS Experimental v3.0.1-1152-ge3ba1016, the exact build used for testing. Stable 3.0.1 and other builds are unverified.

UE4SS goes alongside Game/Binaries/Win64/AceCombat8.exe. The mod launcher can stay on your Desktop or another folder; it does not belong in the game folder. The upstream Experimental download can change; retain the exact tested archive when available.

Setup — apply once, then play

  1. If you have no campaign save, start a campaign once, let it save, then close the game.
  2. Open the launcher and verify the detected game folder, or use Browse.
  3. Use Back Up Current Save. All mod options initially start unchecked. Select every option you want enabled; applying with an option unchecked disables its script.
  4. Set your MRP target and mission option if applicable, then click Apply Selected Mods. Apply also creates a verified save backup.
  5. Launch using your working mod-compatible offline/single-player route, enter the campaign hangar, and let the game save normally.

You do not need to keep the launcher open or Apply every session. UE4SS loads the installed scripts on game startup. Keep UE4SS and the scripts installed for ongoing features such as FOV and loadout repair. Reapply when updating, changing selections, or changing your MRP target. The launcher's optional No EAC launch does not uninstall EAC or change Steam settings.

Custom MRP / Unlimited

Enable MRP credits, then choose Custom amount (1–999,999,999) or Unlimited (999,999,999).

This is a minimum target balance, not an amount added on top. Higher existing balances are preserved. Unlimited sets a large balance once; purchases still deduct MRP. It is not an infinite balance or spending freeze.

Credits apply once per Apply after a stable campaign hangar is available. Allow about 10–15 seconds after the hangar is ready, then back out and reopen the tree if its display is stale. F6 retries/reapplies the installed target in the hangar. Reapplying can top the balance back up after spending.

Aircraft Tree and other features

  • Aircraft Tree access: separate option that opens campaign tree nodes. Purchases remain separate and spend MRP; it does not grant purchased parts or enable Mission Access. A story milestone may still affect menu availability; its exact mission requirement is unconfirmed.
  • Aircraft, skins and SP weapons: enter the hangar and wait about 5–10 seconds. If a loadout is incomplete, select that aircraft, wait another 5–10 seconds, then reopen its loadout. F7 is the manual fallback.
  • Mission access: independent of MRP/tree options. Leave it unchecked to retain normal mission progression. Existing saved unlocks remain. Individual mission cutoffs after Mission 6 have not all been verified in game.
  • FOV overlay: F10 during active, unpaused flight. Installed UE4SS scripts provide it; the launcher can be closed.
  • DLSS settings: optional INI changes, not a DLSS installer. Verify support in your setup.

Backups

Open Backups opens %LOCALAPPDATA%\AC8 Mod Launcher\Backups. Disabling scripts does not undo changes already saved to your campaign. Preserve a pre-mod backup if you may want to revert.

Testing — October 2, 2026

The author confirmed MRP and Aircraft Tree functionality, successful purchases, and that purchases remain after saving. Desktop testing visibly confirmed a custom 999,980,000 MRP balance and preservation of a higher balance when a lower target was chosen. Installer checks passed for independent options, backups, custom/preset configuration and invalid target rejection.

This remains experimental; every node, campaign stage and feature combination has not been tested. Experimental 5 updates version labels and the embedded guide/footer. Gameplay scripts are identical to Experimental 4; the refreshed build passed the installer checks.

Source and build instructions

Use AC8-Mod-Control-1.2.0-experimental.5-source.zip attached to the current release for the complete matching C#/Lua source, tests, licenses and BUILD.md. Use .NET SDK 10.0.401. Source archives are for building/review, not the playable download.

The current C#/Lua source is in native/ and in the matching release source ZIP. See native/BUILD.md. Historical Python code and review records remain in src/ and docs/ for older releases; they are not the current launcher.

Scan disclosure

No VirusTotal result or Nexus approval has been verified for this exact Experimental 5 binary. Earlier versions had unresolved detections and Nexus quarantine; those reports do not describe this file. No false-positive clearance is claimed. Keep antivirus enabled. SHA256SUMS.txt identifies the release files; checksums do not certify safety.

AC8 Mod Control 1.2.0 Experimental 4 - Custom MRP and Aircraft Tree

Choose a tag to compare

@JustBlan1984 JustBlan1984 released this 02 Oct 10:51
89904f2

Download AC8-Mod-Control-1.2.0-experimental.4.zip, extract it, and run AC8 Mod Control.exe. No separate Python/.NET installation is needed.

New features

  • Custom MRP target from 1 to 999,999,999, or Unlimited (999,999,999).
  • This is a minimum target balance, not an added amount. Higher balances are preserved. Unlimited sets the balance once; purchases still spend MRP.
  • Separate Aircraft Tree access option; purchases remain separate. MRP/tree options do not enable Mission Access.
  • Credits wait for a stable campaign hangar. F6 reapplies the installed target; reopen the tree to refresh its display.
  • Fixed garbled launcher punctuation. Mod checkboxes start unchecked.

Required setup

Use UE4SS Experimental v3.0.1-1152-ge3ba1016, installed separately alongside Game/Binaries/Win64/AceCombat8.exe. Stable 3.0.1 and other builds are unverified. Official UE4SS installation guide.

Keep the launcher on your Desktop or another folder; it does not belong in the game folder. Close the game, back up your save, select ALL options you want enabled, and click Apply Selected Mods. Unchecked options are disabled when applying. Launch using your working mod-compatible offline/single-player route. Enter the campaign hangar; allow about 10–15 seconds after it is ready for credits, then reopen the tree. Let the game save normally.

Apply once, then play

You do not need to keep the launcher open or Apply every session. UE4SS loads the installed scripts when the game starts. Keep UE4SS and the scripts installed for ongoing features such as the F10 FOV overlay during unpaused flight. Reapply when updating, changing options or changing the MRP target. Disabling scripts does not undo saved unlocks.

For aircraft/loadouts, wait about 5–10 seconds in the hangar. If weapons or skins are missing, select that aircraft, wait another 5–10 seconds, then reopen its loadout. F7 is the fallback. A story milestone may still affect tree menu availability; its exact mission requirement is unconfirmed.

Validation — October 2, 2026

The author confirmed MRP and Aircraft Tree functionality, successful purchases, and purchase persistence after saving. Desktop testing visibly confirmed 999,980,000 MRP and preservation of a higher balance when selecting a lower target. Installer checks passed for separate options, backups, custom/preset serialization and invalid-value rejection.

The exact tested EXE is published unchanged. Its embedded guide/footer still has older pending-test wording; the status above is current. This remains experimental; exhaustive node/campaign/configuration coverage is not claimed.

AC8 Mod Control 1.1.2 — Automatic Unlock Fix

Choose a tag to compare

@JustBlan1984 JustBlan1984 released this 02 Oct 02:34
6157ffe

What changed

  • Fixed automatic aircraft and mission triggers on fresh campaigns.
  • Aircraft repair retries failed attempts and updates SP weapons as the game creates loadout records.
  • All mod choices start unchecked. Select only the features you want; Mission access is optional.

Download and upgrade

Download AC8.Mod.Control.exe below. Keep it on your Desktop or another folder; it does not need to go in the game folder. No separate Python or .NET installation is needed. Required tested UE4SS build: Experimental v3.0.1-1152-ge3ba1016. Download that exact build. Use this Experimental build rather than stable 3.0.1; other builds have not been verified. UE4SS is not bundled. Installation guide.

Close the game, run this new launcher, select your game folder and desired mods, then click Apply Selected Mods once to install the update. A campaign save must already exist; start a campaign and let it save first if necessary. Applying mods creates a save backup. Leave Mission access unchecked to retain normal mission progression. Disabling a script does not reverse saved unlocks.

Automatic unlocks

Enter the campaign hangar and wait about 5–10 seconds before selecting an aircraft. If SP weapons or skins remain locked, select the aircraft, wait another 5–10 seconds, then back out and reopen its weapon/skin selection. The game must create loadout records before the mod can update them. F7 is a manual fallback, normally unnecessary. Let the game save normally.

Testing and scan status

The author confirmed automatic aircraft, special weapons and skins during local testing. Automatic mission application was verified in the game log. Thirty isolated launcher checks passed; startup and all 15 extracted Lua scripts were verified. Aircraft-only fresh-campaign gameplay has not yet been verified.

No VirusTotal result or Nexus approval has been verified for this new 1.1.2 binary. The previous 1.1.1 build was quarantined by Nexus and its report showed 1/70 detections; that result does not apply to this new file. The earlier detection remains unresolved. Keep antivirus protection enabled. Offline/single-player use only.

Features retained

  • Cumulative mission selection, with Unlock ALL Missions first.
  • Aircraft, skin and special weapon unlocks; FOV overlay.
  • Manual and automatic verified current-save backups.
  • DLSS configuration enable/restore, including compatibility with the original launcher’s restore record.
  • Optional No EAC launch for offline/single-player use.
