Gathered from Game Studio II, Week 13 - Class 26 and from Damian & David at Liminal VR
- Hit VFX on hit
- More exaggerated animations -> squishier (personal note: I don't think the animations are currently implemented nicely so they feel off cause they aren't playing the way they should be)
- Scale still feels off -> things feel too small still
- Some assets still feel like place holders and are untextured
- There should be more pirate themed stuff in front of the player just like there is behind the player
- Their comment: A lot of the 'fun' piratey stuff in the environment is to the side or behind the user, whereas currently you mainly just see a bed and a few barrels. I think rearranging the environment, and/or repositioning the user would be beneficial
-
Croc spawn system needs a lot of work
-
Their comments:
- They're often appearing and disappearing out of nowhere, or lowering/raising into the ground out of nowhere. Improved feedback (above) will help, but even with that it feels buggy/glitchy overall.
- I think their timing of spawning in general could use improvements
- The placement is overall much better, however I think they could be moved ~30cm higher (when sitting I'm often having to hit down low to the ground and its not very comfortable).
- They could probably also be spread out a little more, even if it means removing 1-2 croc spawn points.
- The thing they spawn out of could be made to be taller so they're still not floating in nowhere when they appear.
- The most important thing is hitting one single croc should be feel like the most fun and satisfying thing possible.
- Improved & more distinct SFX for hit (cartoony bonk & squish noises) compared to miss
- Sound FX for background animation and movement -> little sword battle, canon fires (left over from last week's feedback but I figured it'd still be good to leave in)
