Local games

ProLeak comes with its own game server, which runs inside the game on your computer. A local game plays the official rules against bots, alone or in teams, with the sandbox, the special modes and the game modes plugins add. The official servers never learn of a local game.

Note

Developer mode

Local games are part of developer mode for now: set dev: true in ProLeak/config/proleak.yml (see Settings).

Contents

Starting a game

  1. In the main menu, open Solo & Co-op.
  2. Pick a card after the game's own: Legion TD 2 plays the game as the official server does; each other card is a game mode from a plugin.
  3. The game is prepared, and the loading screen opens with ProLeak's logo.

The local_* keys of ProLeak/config/proleak.yml set up local games. ProLeak reads the file as the game starts, so a change applies after a restart.

Teams and bots

local_teams: 2v2

local_teams: seats players on both sides: 2v2 puts you in slot 1 and bots named ProLeak BOT in slots 2, 5 and 6. The 2v2 map seats two a side; 3v3 and 4v4 need the classic map. Unset, you play alone.

Each bot builds toward the wave's recommended value, buys workers, sends mercenaries and heals its king (see Game modes). Waves, leaks, mercenaries and leak gold work as they do online.

Picking legions

A local game waits for you to pick a legion, like an online one. local_autopick: picks for a player who has not chosen once local_autopick_seconds: (20 by default) remain of wave 1's build phase:

Value Picks
random any legion but the Mastermind
forsaken that legion, by its builder's name
mastermind, mastermind:random the Mastermind, with a random playstyle
mastermind:greed the Mastermind, with that playstyle
random:random any legion, the Mastermind included, with a random playstyle
random:chaos any legion, with Chaos if the Mastermind comes up

A playstyle window left open is finished the same way. A value naming no legion or playstyle keeps the game from starting, with the reason.

local_bot_autopick: takes the same values for every bot, as the game is set up. Unset, each bot is the Mastermind with one of a bot's fourteen playstyles at random.

Map and Elo

Key Meaning
local_map The map, as its zip in the game's Maps folder is named (legiontd2_2v2). Unset, the classic map, legiontd2.
local_game_elo The game Elo, 0 to 10000, for the few rules that depend on it (such as the Mastermind draw). Unset, those rules use their default.

Sandbox

local_sandbox: true plays the game as the official sandbox: 10000 gold and mythium, a supply cap of 100, an hour to build before the first wave, sales at full value and the debug bar. Its chat commands work as they do there:

Command Does
greedisgood +10000 gold and mythium, supply cap 100
-gold N, -mythium N, -workers N, -income N sets that value
-supply N sets the supply cap, up to 100
-builder N picks the legion of index N, again at any time
-wave N sets the wave to N at any time, with an hour on the timer
-mana N sets the selected unit's mana to N percent of its most
-nodouble turns double workers (from wave 15) on or off
-start starts the wave in a second
-clear removes the wave's units once all have spawned
-lockwave repeats the current wave until used again, with the same gold, mythium and mercenaries each time

Shared middle lanes

On the classic map each pair of neighbouring lanes shares a middle below their ends, and a local game lets every player build there from the start.

  • A fighter in the middle closes both partners' lanes, and a fighter in a lane closes the middle.
  • When a pair builds in the middle, both waves walk down to it, and the pair leaks and clears as one.

Special modes

Key Mode
local_special_mode: giga_mercs Giga Mercs
local_gold_rush: true Gold Rush (any map but the 2v2 one)
local_income_and_chill: true Income and Chill

The mode and any special mode are announced a few seconds after the legion is picked.

Giga Mercs

Each mercenary a player hires merges into the first one of its type still waiting, which grows a stack. Each stack counts for the bounty and the send, and makes some mercenaries' abilities stronger (the Brute's slow, the Kraken's stun and a few others).

Gold Rush

Mythium gathers at 0.94, each cleared wave pays every player its number squared in gold before the income, a king upgrade adds 5 income, and a mercenary adds a quarter of its mythium cost (a fifth for the stronger ones, such as the Kraken). The client shows these incomes in its tooltips for the length of the game.

Income and Chill

Each wave's spawn sets the send choice back to Auto Income, and the bots send for income all game (with Auto Power from wave 21). In a Gold Rush, a player who keeps 20 mythium or more with the auto send off at a wave's rewards misses that wave's gold.

Ending a game

  • The surrender button (or -ff in chat) surrenders once: the team's king falls and the game ends lost.
  • -abandon ends it lost at once.

Either way the end screen follows. When the client leaves a local game it forgets the game's id, so nothing about the game reaches the official servers; the Last Game line of your profile still opens its end screen.

Local games can be recorded and watched again like any other: see Replay your games.
